The love triangles on Vanderpump Rules are never-ending. Besides Katie Maloney, everyone else in this cast has either dated or hooked up with at least two of their co-stars. This list of commingled cast interactions just keeps growing, unfortunately for them. You see, in the Season 11 trailer, Tom Schwartz revealed that he and Scheana Shay also once kissed in Vegas.
Now, it is possible that this kiss is being hyper-inflated and that it wasn’t a big deal at all. Maybe it was during a long-ago game of spin-the-bottle. Perhaps it even occurred when one, or hopefully both, of the parties were single. Or, more realistically within this friend group, these two just made out, and things are about to get dicey.
Clearly, when this revelation hit, we immediately started racking our brains, trying to discern a timeline for this event. We love clarity. So now, we have to ask—were Scheana and Schwartz cheating when they kissed? Let’s unpack what we know based on when this kiss might have happened.
Pre-VPR Season 1: Cheating Level – Low to Moderate
If Scheana and Schwartz kissed years before the cameras ever picked up for VPR Season 1, then it’s possible that cheating isn’t an issue. During this time, Schwartz was single, and Scheana was about to start dating Mike Shay. However, the closer that we get to this first season being picked-up, the higher the allegations of their cheating becomes. To explain, Katie and Schwartz began dating in 2011, while Scheana and Mike started not much earlier, in 2010.
In 2013, Season 1 began, with all four of these stars officially coupled off. If it is revealed that Scheana and Schwartz kissed somewhere in the 2010 or prior range, then it’s unlikely cheating is involved. On the contrary, if this kiss went down in the later 2011-2013 range, then it’s possible that a cheating claim might arise.
Seasons 1-4: Cheating Level – Moderate to High
In the Season 11 trailer, Schwartz says, “I’ve cheated. I was a makeout slut. I made out with Scheana, like, in Vegas and nobody knows that.” Well, guess which seasons saw this cast traveling to Vegas?
I’ll answer that. In Season 1, the cast took a trip to Vegas for Stassi Schroeder’s birthday. At this time, Schwartz and Katie were an item, as were Scheana and Mike. Now, to be fair, Schwartz and Katie fought a lot, and as we later learned, things were not always perfect between Scheana and Mike, so it is possible that all parties took unknown (to us) breaks in their relationships sometime during Season 1, but that’s just us, being generous.
If so, and if this kiss occurred away from Bravo‘s cameras in Season 1, both Scheana and Schwartz may only have a bit of explaining to do. However, Scheana and Mike were engaged by Season 2, and married in Season 3, so anything after Season 1 is questionable.
The guys returned to Vegas in Season 4, but as no women from this cast were in attendance, this kiss did not occur on that trip. Unless, of course, these friends traveled to Vegas off-air somewhere in this time period. Either way, this timeframe is sticky and could point towards the positive on whether or not these two were cheating.
Seasons 5-10: Cheating Level – High
In Season 5, Scheana and Mike divorced. On the flip side, we also saw Tom marry Katie. Their eventual divorce didn’t arrive until Season 10, so any stolen kisses (no matter how small) that occurred in this period would equate to Schwartz being a cheater. He cheated a lot, though it’s just the Scheana angle that we’re working on at this moment.
Speaking of Scheana, after divorcing Mike in Season 5, she jumped into a relationship with the 7-minute man, Rob Valletta. Their relationship consumed VPR Season 6. Following their split in 2017, Scheana stayed single for a bit, but by Season 9, she and Brock Davies were dating, and their destination wedding was shown in Season 10. However, the duo later revealed that on paper, they had actually wed a full year prior.
Despite Scheana’s small timeframe of singleness, if her kiss with Schwartz occurred during this period, one, or both, of these stars have earned themselves another unfaithful badge. All we can do now though is wait and watch VPR Season 11, where Scheana and Schwartz will hopefully further explain this kiss. Basically, it either did, or did not, involve yet another cheating scandal, and on this, we are eager to see how the Vanderpump Rules cast reacts.
