Who better to ask about legal matters within The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City group than Meredith Marks? Supposedly, Meredith is one to dabble in official documents, especially if they are in regards to the issues of one of her cast mates.
Lisa Barlow, for one, is convinced that Meredith looked into the financial health of her company, Vida Tequila. In Season 4, with the emergence of rumors that Angie Katsanevas is involved in the Greek Mafia and has issues with her business, all eyes turned on Meredith when financial documents popped up again.
So perhaps it makes sense as to why Meredith would be asked to comment on the Heather Gay and Monica Garcia lawsuit.
Meredith “knew” about matters before the lawsuits when public
“Yes and no,” Meredith told Us Weekly when asked if she was surprised about the legal proceedings.
“There’s some stuff that you will learn that I knew about prior to hearing [about the lawsuits] which made it a little less shocking,” she teased. “But it’s still surprising.”
Heather’s spa, Beauty Lab + Laser, initiated legal proceedings against Monica for breach of contract, breach of good faith, and fair dealing. It came after the RHOSLC newbie failed to pay $2,449. She had signed a contract in December 2019 and made the initial payment of $449. However, had allegedly failed on the subsequent monthly payments.
Monica responded in September when she filed a countersuit. The filing was amended two months later. According to her documents, she “received defective, negligently given injections, which did not have the intended, promised result.”
The ex-communicated Mormon claimed to have made “an oral accord” with the spa. This, despite having to pay “another competent party to fix the damage to Monica’s nose and lips caused by the incompetent, negligent actions of Beauty Lab’s staff.”
Heather chose to speak publicly in November via a post to Instagram. In it, she wrote, “This lawsuit in the press has no merit and is unfortunately a pattern of behavior from a desperate woman who when unable to pay her bills lashes out to avoid accountability.”
This level of drama will divide the group for sure. And regardless of what Meredith gets involved in, this lawsuit is one that all RHOSLC want to know more about.
