The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga is detailing the difficult situation she’s been put in while trying to film Season 14. In particular, still being on the cast with her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice.
“It’s not an easy navigation. Never was,” Melissa told In Touch at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball event in NYC. “I feel like it always just finds me … the drama on this show.”
It’s no secret that the reality star and her husband, Joe Gorga, have been at odds with Teresa since joining the series in Season 3. Since Tre’s wedding to Luis Ruelas in 2022, their problems have multiplied tenfold. Despite it all, Melissa says she’s not changing a thing about how she rolls, adding she’s staying “true” to her.
“I always have. And I call a spade a spade, and if I see bullsh*t, I call bullsh*t,” the On Display host added. “And that’s how you do Housewives.”
Melissa throws shade at her co-stars
Since the family’s recent falling out in Season 13, Teresa declared she would never reconcile with her brother, and it looks like she’s stayed true to her word. Even then, Melissa said she’s found a way to move forward.
“We have been in the same room together. I don’t know who is saying that we haven’t,” she said. “We both have zero desire to communicate, and I think it’s better that way. Like, boundaries,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
Every season of The Real Housewives is jam-packed with surprises, and according to the RHONJ cast, Season 14 will be a season that goes “upside down and sideways.”
Each year, Melissa would typically be teamed up with her pals Margaret Josephs and Jackie Goldschneider. However, the group’s dynamics have changed. Before the RHONJ panel at BravoCon 2023, Jackie and Danielle Cabral swapped positions, placing Jackie with Tre and Jennifer Aydin, while Danielle is now sitting at Marge, Mel, and Rachel Fuda’s table.
Although we don’t know what sparked the new relationships in Jersey, it’s clear Melissa is not a fan.
“We definitely have people on [RHONJ] who if they’re starting to feel — especially this season, woof, if they’re starting to feel less than, or like, they are not getting enough airtime of some sort, they’ll just gravitate the complete other way because they’re like, ‘Well, this will get me airtime.’ It’s the most frustrating thing when it comes to ‘Housewives.’ But I think that’s what makes the show go round also,” she said.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but we’ll be here to talk about it when we find out. In the meantime, stream Season 13 on Peacock.
