Things have gone from bad to worse between Kyle Richards and Sutton Stracke. The entirety of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 so far has featured their back-and-forth fighting. But last week’s episode saw things reach a fever pitch at Kyle’s cannabis-themed dinner party.
During an especially vicious exchange, Sutton questioned Kyle about the state of her marriage and Kyle accused Sutton of not eating. Which very clearly insinuated that Sutton has an eating disorder.
Prior to that, a newly sober Kyle gossiped with castmate Dorit Kemsley that Sutton has a drinking problem. Something that Crystal Kung Minkoff takes issue with.
Crystal doesn’t think Sutton has a problem
Crystal told Extra TV of the speculation, “I didn’t like that at all. And I was a little bit quiet. Because I was trying to absorb what was going on.”
She continued, “I just think that kind of narrative is not only unkind but can be, like, hurtful. And in some ways, like, dangerous for people. If you really believe that then there needs to be some movement to help someone. But I didn’t feel like that was the situation, personally.”
Behind closed doors
Prior to Kyle’s weed party, the cast roasted Sutton for her actions during their trip to Vegas. After Sutton threw a fit and stormed out of a Magic Mike show, she fumed about how uncomfortable she was given her socialite status.
But Crystal knew that behind the scenes, her friend was under a lot of stress due to the revelation that her ex-husband was moving to England. Sutton’s main concern was the legal battle that would be ahead given that they have a minor child together. Sutton later shared this with an unsympathetic Kyle.
Luckily, Crystal has stepped up to be more supportive of Sutton. “We’re close now. I’m like, ‘If things are going on behind closed doors, just like let me know. You don’t need to tell me details,'” she explained.
Crystal concluded, “‘Cause that’s why we struggled my first two years on the show. Because she had other stuff going on. And I said, ‘You can’t take it out on people.’ And she said, ‘I know but I couldn’t share it then.'”
