Olivia Flowers had a hard time with love since getting involved with Austen Kroll. That seems to be the theme with Southern Charm ladies, and Oliva was no exception. After pursuing her, then refusing to put a label on it, and finally hooking up with her best friend, Austen made Olivia’s love life very complicated.
She was still dealing with the repercussions of it all during Season 9 of the hit reality TV show. But it seems the worst is over, and Olivia has learned to platonically co-exist with her ex. Not only that, but there is a new romance in her life as well.
Olivia’s new man Alex hasn’t watched Southern Charm
Olivia introduced her new man via her Instagram Stories shortly before Thanksgiving. He’s in finance, a southern boy, and, surprisingly, did not know about Southern Charm before meeting Olivia.
“His name’s Alex [and] he’s from Dallas. We met at a wedding,” Olivia said during the November 30 episode of The Viall Files podcast. “I was my dad’s date [to the ceremony] and he was running late to it. So, I’m walking in by myself, late, and [Alex] was the usher and he’s like, ‘Can I walk you down the aisle?’ I was like, ‘It’s a little soon, but OK.’”
“He didn’t know anything about the show, so it was fun introducing it to him,” she told host NIck Viall about her man not recognizing her when they met.
As for Austen, Alex has met his predecessor. The two hit it off well.
“Well, they met and it went well,” Olivia explained. “Because Alex can get extra nice when he’s drunk and be buddy-buddy, I was like, ‘Babe, just go and be nice, but you don’t have to be besties with him.’”
It was important that Alex and Austen got along, because the Southern Charm exes share a social circle.
Olivia explained, “Austen and I have mutual friends that have this sick place in the Bahamas and he and I both got them in the divorce. They invited us both on this trip, with, like, a group of people, and we both went, We were able to put our bullsh*t aside.”
People can get over anything to enjoy free digs in paradise. At least the initial atmosphere is cordial between Austen and Alex. But the question is, will it remain that way?
