Kyle Richards isn’t fazed by Sutton Stracke calling their friendship a “farce” on a recent Real Housewives of Beverly Hills episode. She brushed it off so quickly it’s evident that this isn’t the first time she’s had to deal with Sutton’s drama.
“I think she’s just trying to be dramatic and get attention from the viewers,” Kyle told Page Six at the DirectTV Christmas party hosted by Kyle’s sister Kathy Hilton in Bel Air.
Not a big deal
“She knows we’re friends,” Kyle added, shooting down Sutton’s assessment which was made during a stressful Vegas trip.
“What did I do in Vegas to her?” Kyle asked. “She was the one who had the ridiculous meltdown … So, I don’t know.”
Kyle is right, though. Sutton was at odds with pretty much everyone during that trip to Sin City with the RHOBH ladies.
She butted heads with Kyle and Erika Jayne. Both women were pretty perturbed by Sutton’s displeasure over the Magic Mike show and subsequent walkout.
Even Tamra Judge of The Real Housewives of Orange County commented on Sutton’s “insufferable behavior,” saying that she thought perhaps the real reason Sutton was upset was because the Magic Mike dancers didn’t pick her to join the performance.
Friendship hiatus
The strange conflict followed the Housewives back to Los Angeles. There, Kyle grilled Sutton over her history of going off the deep end. Sutton responded by demanding receipts and infamously kept asking Kyle to, “Name ’em!”
The conversation went downhill further, with Sutton suggesting that Kyle was hiding something and later in the confessional saying that Kyle was hiding something and that her marriage to Mauricio Umansky was in trouble — which turned out to be true.
“I felt like she’s my friend,” Kyle said. “So I was disappointed and very hurt.”
While Kyle admitted that she was taking a break from Sutton, she didn’t believe their friendship hiatus was going to be permanent.
