Not much is known about Captain Glenn Shephard’s life on land. He is fully immersed in being a captain on Below Deck Sailing Yacht and speaks of living without roots. It’s the yachties mindset after all. But Glenn has been in a five-year relationship with girlfriend Danelis “Dani” Jimenez, and the two are very much in love.
Fans could be 100% behind the couple, and applaud them for their devotion to each other and their land/sea relationship. Unfortunately, there are the cynics who feel the need to judge on the couple’s 19-year age gap.
Captain Glenn’s relationship: He threw “caution to the wind” to date Danelis
The issue came up on Dani’s 43rd birthday when Captain Glenn posted a sweet post dedicated to his lady love on Instagram, November 21.
Glenn and Danelis are pictured at a sea-side restaurant in Portixol, Palma de Mallorca. Danelis has her arms around Glenn, who is looking suave in a pair of sunglasses. But rather than simply wish his lady a happy birthday, the star used the platform to defend the relationship. In doing so, he put haters in their place.
“Some here have commented that Danelis looks like my daughter or I’m old enough to be her dad,” Captain Glenn wrote.
“I knew this apparent age difference would be an issue for some, but my feeling is when you find someone who you click with that is perfect in every other way, when it comes to love and happiness, I can think of no other best time to throw caution to the wind,” Captain Glenn continued. “Like I always say, life is short and you only die once and when you do, you stay that way for a very long time.”
At the end of the statement, the Bravolebrity thanked other followers for their tact. He concluded, “To all of you who have maybe had that thought and chose to keep it to yourselves, thank you.”
