Many people are concerned about Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 and Melissa Gorga might be one of them. She’s not necessarily concerned about herself but the actions of her co-stars have raised some eyebrows.
What we do know is RHONJ will look different when it comes back. Mel won’t be dealing with Teresa Giudice and vice versa. Filming was apparently done between Team Gorga and Team Giudice with the two never meeting in between. Melissa teased the new dynamic on an episode of her podcast, Melissa Gorga on Display.
Changing of the friends
Melissa’s guest was Real Housewives of New York star Erin Lichy. She told Melissa about her disappointment when her RHONY castmates would “gravitate[d] towards the [co-star] who is more popular in that episode” and Melissa could certainly relate.
“We definitely have people on [RHONJ] who if they’re starting to feel — especially this season, woof, if they’re starting to feel less than, or like, they are not getting enough airtime of some sort, they’ll just gravitate the complete other way because they’re like, ‘Well, this will get me airtime.’ It’s the most frustrating thing when it comes to ‘Housewives.’ But I think that’s what makes the show go round also,” Melissa said. Ahem, Jackie Goldschneider.
Please, raise your hand if you believe in your heart Jackie didn’t jump over to Team Giudice because she was about to get canned. Keep your hand up if you also believe Jackie truly wants to be friends with Tre because they have so much in common – other than jail. Can’t we all agree poor Jackie is doing what she needs to do to stay on the show?
Melissa continued, “You hear things in the press. You’ll hear things on podcasts. This is what I deal with all the time. You think that you guys are friends. Or you are close with someone and then you say something in the press. They do something at BravoCon. They say something on a panel. And you’re like, ‘What?’ It’s really hard.”
Mel’s disappointment
While Mel might be surprised Jackie switched sides, she should at least understand where she’s coming from. It might be a slap in the face to Melissa, but being friends with Melissa was not going to continue Jackie’s Bravo paycheck.
At BravoCon, the new friendship between Jackie and Tre was discussed with Melissa saying, she’s not sure “how authentic [Goldschneider is] being about her new decisions in life.”
Mel added, “Everyone needs to remember who their friends are. And who was there for them when they were down. Not just while they are trying to get back up. You don’t kick your friends down, while you are trying to stand back up.”
Oh, get in the game, Melissa. Start sniffing around Dolores Catania and complimenting her a lot. Does anyone also really think Teresa had a change of heart and loves loves loves Jackie now? No, but she loves making Melissa squirm. Mission accomplished.
