Since meeting Braunwyn Windham-Burke on Real Housewives of Orange County, she has taken us on quite the journey. Initially, fans didn’t particularly care for the mother of seven. She seemed thirsty on (and off) the show. Additionally, viewers couldn’t really wrap their heads around Braunwyn’s unconventional relationship with husband Sean Burke.
It seemed to work well for them at the time. Isn’t that all that matters? But in 2021, Braunwyn revealed that she is gay. She started dating women and it was clear that her marriage was over. The short-lived housewife filed for divorce in 2022.
Braunwyn Windham-Burke divorce: A second chance at life
Over a year later, and after some back and forth in court, her divorce is finalized. Braunwyn told PEOPLE, “Today feels like the first day of the rest of my life.”
She continued, “You know, you go your whole life with everyone telling you what you need to do to be happy. And it gets to a certain point where you say, ‘No, actually — this is what I want to do. I’m going to live for me.’ And I’m thrilled that at 45 years old, I get a second chance to live for me.”
Moving on … and out
That second chance includes life with fiancée, Jennifer Spinner. The couple has been together since 2022 after meeting on Instagram. In another unconventional and progressive move, they have been living with Sean in Tennessee.
Said Braunwyn, “We moved out here and never really anticipated Sean would be moving in with us, but we tried the whole ‘bird nest parenting’ thing and it just isn’t working. So Jen and I are moving into our own home in December, and the kids will be moving back and forth. It’s within walking distance so it’ll just be better for everyone involved.”
Braunwyn and Sean agreed on 50/50 custody of their kids. Additionally, Sean will pay his now ex-wife $5k a month in spousal support, along with an additional $6k in child support.
The former housewife gushed about her new life, “I can finally walk down the aisle for real now. I’m really excited to be able to start my next chapter.”
