Mary Cosby has been busy judging others on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, but now people are judging what goes on under Mary’s roof. You would think the leader of a Pentecostal church in Utah would raise her only child with a strict religious upbringing, but in the case of Robert Cosby Jr, you might be wrong.
It looks like Robert has been sans supervision for quite some time. He’s also an adult living in Mommy’s house doing very adult extra-curricular activities with his wife. Recently photos of Robert and Alexiana Cosby showing off a plethora of designer drugs hit the media and people were surprisingly not shocked. So I guess fans will be further unsurprised at Robert Jr.’s rap sheet. Radar has the scoop.
The art of deflection
I wonder if Mary treats most of her “friends” like trash to keep them at an appropriate distance from her personal life. Heather Gay has known Mary for years but only saw inside the house on a recent episode of RHOSLC. While Heather did note the decor was sponsored by Dr. Seuss, I’m guessing she didn’t see any Ecstacy pills hiding in the green carpet.
That said, Mary has a really good reason to keep everyone away from her personal space. She relies on remaining unbothered and putting people in their place, but she should have been worried about her kid.
On December 12, 2020, Robert Jr. was out being great and got pulled for a traffic violation. Per law enforcement, Robert was driving under the influence. Additionally, he was found to have “marijuana/spice” on his person. The icing on the cake was this guy driving around with illegal substances and he didn’t even have a valid driver’s license.
Robert Jr. managed to make a plea deal in March 2021 and was found guilty of DUI – the additional charges were dismissed. Mary’s pride and joy was sentenced to 180 days in jail, 178 days suspended. Instead of spending two days in jail, Robert Jr. satisfied his sentence with 48 hours of community service.
RJ was also forced to pay fines and was on probation for 12 months. He had to attend a victim impact panel as well. Mary has not mentioned Robert Jr.’s arrest, but she’ll have to address it at some point.
A minor problem
On April 8, 2021, the mother of Robert’s minor girlfriend called the cops. She wasn’t pleased her daughter had been shacking up with Robert in Mary’s house. As a result, Mary and Robert faced charges of “providing shelter to a runaway and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.” That minor turned out to be the wife Mary’s son never told her about. Allegedly. They pleaded not guilty and the case was dismissed in early 2022.
Regarding the charges, Mary said, “I don’t live my life to please people I live my life to please God to the people who are committed to believing lies.” This is what I like to call willful ignorance.
