RHOSLC’s Monica Garcia Divorce Finalized: Wins Full Custody and Over $6K per Month in Support

Good news for Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Monica Garcia. Not only has she managed to keep her mom on read since filming wrapped, she recently had a victory in the courtroom.

It’s been four months since Mon decided to divorce her husband for the second time. Now everything is wrapped up and she can move on accordingly, and maybe pay some overdue bills. She’ll be doing all of that with custody of her kids and a roof over her head. Score! The U.S. Sun has the details.

It didn’t turn out too shabby for Monica. She’s not getting Sutton Stracke money but it’s a lot more than nothing. Court documents show her divorce from now ex-husband Mike was finalized at the end of October.

Monica was awarded sole legal and sole physical custody of their kids. Mike is allowed to see the children “at reasonable times and places.” That said, Mike has apparently hightailed it out of Utah and is “living in another state across the country.” The former couple share four daughters.

The divorce decree that the judge approved detailed which holidays the parents will have the girls. It was noted in the docs that Monica while owning a children’s clothing company, has a gross monthly income of nothing. The papers advised Monica “does not have any countable income from any source.” I mean, I guess that might be because her old boss is locked up.

Mike has a healthy monthly income of $17,333. Since they have four kids, Monica will receive $2,636 for each child until they turn 18 years old. She’ll also get alimony in the amount of $4k.

Mon gets the money until 2037 or until she shacks up with or marries someone else.

Home Sweet Home

Thankfully, Monica is also keeping the family home. She has a cozy ranch-style situation just shy of 1200 square feet. The divorce decree said they still owe $168k on the $424k sale price. Monica will be fully responsible for the mortgage and her ex will receive his portion of the equity in the home and surrounding property. It comes to approximately $130k, so essentially Monica is paying Mike until the lien is satisfied.

Finally, the judge granted Monica a legal name change, so she’s officially back to Garcia. Not Darnell. Allegedly.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City continues every Tuesday at 8/7c on Bravo.
