Andy Cohen Laughs at Meme Making Light of Vanity Fair Report and Ramona Singer’s Racism

Everyone is talking about that Vanity Fair piece, but not everyone is taking it seriously. Real Housewives of New York City alums Leah McSweeney and Eboni K. Williams teamed up with the reality reckoning spokesperson, Bethenny Frankel, and made some major accusations against Bravo. They brought to light some of the questionable conditions that have occurred behind the scenes of our favorite shows. Racism, substance abuse, and an overall lack of mental health support were all addressed.

One of the biggest revelations in the piece was the sheer amount of racism allegedly endured behind the scenes of RHONY Season 13. We all knew that there was an investigation into Ramona Singer and her supposed use of the N-word, but reading all of the details shed a lot more light on the situation.

Not everyone was shocked by the accusations in the piece. On Instagram, Watch What Crappens shared a meme mocking the article. Andy Cohen replied in the comments with a laughing emoji, and now the fans are divided.

What’s so funny, Andy?

“Vanity Fair breaks the news that adults drink and Ramona is racist,” the account wrote in the caption. Andy simply dropped a laughter emoji under the video. Watch What Crappens and Andy might have dismissed the accusations in the piece. But, for those involved, the allegations of racism were no laughing matter.

According to the Vanity Fair piece, Ramona said the N-word to a Black staffer. Before that, Bravo held a super awkward “virtual education session” with the season 13 RHONY cast. Eboni said that during the session, Ramona questioned the racial stereotypes they were told to avoid. Eboni recalled Ramona asking, “What if they don’t have a father? Why can’t I say that? Most of them don’t.”

In the Vanity Fair piece, Ramona admitted to asking the question and claimed that she read a statistic that confirmed that racist point of view. Allegedly, Ramona also told a Black woman on the production staff that she might have a tough time telling the Black staffers apart. She reportedly said, “There’s so many of you guys here now; please don’t change your hair as I’m not gonna be able to remember anybody’s names.”

In addition to all of the accusations of racist behavior on RHONY, Leah also filed a discrimination complaint against Bravo and the show’s producers, citing a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. She’s lawyered up and reportedly ready to take Bravo all the way to court.

With serious discrimination accusations against the network, comments like Andy’s should raise a few eyebrows. However, this isn’t the first time that Andy has written off the Vanity Fair piece. During BravoCon, he called in a “factually incorrect rehash.”

TELL US – WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE VANITY FAIR PIECE? DO YOU THINK IT WAS APPROPRIATE FOR ANDY TO COMMENT ON THE MEME?
