We know that some marriages are rocky right now on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. However, Dorit Kemsley is setting the record straight with what’s going on between her and PK Kemsley. Rumors be damned, Dorit wants the world to know that she and PK never actually “separated.”
Rumors about their split have been swirling for weeks, and the couple released a joint statement confirming that their marriage “had some challenging years.” We’re supposedly going to get a glimpse into their marital woes during Season 13 of RHOBH.
In the meantime, Dorit is getting ahead of the story and spoke to Page Six. She recently sat down on their Virtual Reali-Tea podcast and got candid about what’s really going down in her marriage.
A not-so-chic time in their marriage
When chatting on the podcast, Dorit explained that the stress from their home invasion had a ripple effect on her life. She explained that there’s “no area of your life that it doesn’t touch.”
“The last couple of years, post-home invasion, have been very difficult for me,” Dorit explained. “And my husband, who travels for work and he was traveling the most that year … was the year that I needed him the most.”
Dorit went on to talk about how PTSD after the robbery had a grip on her. Then, the fact that she got robbed again of $10,000 cash hasn’t made the recovery process any easier. She told the outlet that she needed PK to be with her. Instead, he was everywhere but at home.
“Not having my partner there made life very difficult and it obviously caused some problems,” Dorit continued.
They’ve got some work to do
Although Dorit and PK’s marital issues are going to play out in the current season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit made it clear that their issues aren’t as bad as the headlines make it seem.
“It’s not like we’re heading to divorce court, but we were disconnected,” Dorit shared. “PK and I, we really are very co-dependent and connected. So it’s the first time in the 13 years we’ve been together that we felt this disconnect.”
Dorit made sure to clarify that she and PK “never separated.” But, she knows that repairing their connection isn’t something that’s going to happen overnight. They have a lot of work, and maybe some couples therapy, ahead of them. So, it sounds like Dorit has secured a storyline for at least one more season.
