Has there ever been a more tempestuous love story than that of Erika Jayne and her enormous $1.4 million princess cut earrings? They even became a storyline on last season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Tom Girardi might’ve purchased them with money he stole from victims of a tragedy, but Erika still didn’t want to give them up.
This led some of the other ladies to be disgusted with Erika’s lack of empathy – which has also showed up on the current season. The courts eventually ruled that the earrings would be auctioned off, and someone else bought them. Erika appealed that ruling and won’t get the earrings back, but asked to be paid for them. It’s still a whole thing.
Actor Jon Hamm is an unlikely Bravoholic and shared his strong feelings that Erika shouldn’t be entitled to the earrings. That was last year, but Erika just recently clapped back at Jon with some pointed language.
Jon Hamm thinks the earrings never belonged to Erika Jayne
Jon was a guest on The Howard Stern Show last September and the two got down to Housewives business. When Howard asked Jon if Erika should surrender the earrings, Jon answered with an enthusiastic, “YES!”
Jon continued, “You just want to shake her and go, ‘Honey, they were never yours — give them back. And then I can’t quite get … are they $750,000 earrings? Or is it $750,000 per earring? … Give ‘em back!”

Erika was a guest on the #NoFilter with Zack Peter podcast on Monday. When the conversation turned to the complexity and mess of her and Tom’s money and taxes, Erika brought up the earrings as an example of how hard it was for lawyers to figure out what money came from where. Then she belatedly called Jon out for his “they were never yours” comment. She asserted that the courts said otherwise.
“I have my appeal. And that’s, you know — like Jon Hamm, you know. ‘They never were yours.’ F*ck you. I won on appeal. You don’t know what you’re talking about. You know, ‘Those were never yours.’ Really? Appellate judge said they were. Or at least said you can’t prove that they weren’t. So that made me happy.”
It still remains to be seen if Erika will be awarded the monetary value of the earrings. If not, it’ll take a whole lot of $7 Bet It All On Blonde tickets to buy another pair!
