Fans of Summer House never imagined it would be Danielle Olivera who set best bud Lindsay Hubbard off. Usually, that was a job relegated to Lindsay’s boyfriends. But Linds and Danielle ended Season 7 on different pages due to disagreements about Lindsay’s relationship with Carl Radke.
Ultimately both Lindsay and Carl ditched Danielle for not being a team player. Danielle suffered at the loss as she had recently broken up with her boyfriend and it was hard to watch. Now all is forgiven because Lindsay and Carl are no more and Danielle is back in the fold. Despite the hard times, Danielle calls her fallout with Linds “a blessing in disguise.”
Danielle’s “blessing”
After the big break-up of Carl and Lindsay, it didn’t take Danielle long to get her best bud back. “Lindsay and I are back together,” she told People. During production of Season 8, Danielle and Lindsay were able to reconcile their friendship. Or, you know, Lindsay took Danielle back because her man was gone.
“I went in open-minded, and she did the same,” Danielle said. “And at first I was like, ‘There’s going to be boundaries.’ I went into it not wanting to get back to where we were, but to have something completely new, and we definitely achieved that,” she added.
Thankfully “a lot of things were squashed” between Danielle and Linds over the summer. That said, would Lindsay have looked twice in Danielle’s direction if Carl hadn’t dumped her?
A “brand new friendship”
The last Summer House reunion was a doozy and Danielle was left hanging solo. “I think the reunion was hot at times, but a lot of things that needed to be said were said, and I think we’ve truly moved on from all of that,” Danielle shared. The ladies even went to the Bahamas for Lindsay’s non-bachelorette trip.
“It’s a brand-new friendship. And I think we’re better off for it, which is so strange to say with all that everything that went down. It was almost a blessing in disguise — a big disguise — because I really love where we are now. It’s a healthier friendship.”
It wasn’t just Danielle supporting Lindsay through hard times, most of the Summer House ladies got on board. “It was awesome to see everyone rally around Lindsay. Everyone’s perspective on everything is different, but I think that we can all agree that we want to be there for her. And that’s what, oddly is a unifying force, and I think that it really was just fun,” she noted.
While Danielle and Lindsay are living happily ever after, the duo aren’t sharing screen time on Winter House. Of course, now that Carl has been deleted, Lindsay will probably show up again next season.
