Things have been tense on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8, especially when it comes to Below Deck’s Tumi Mhlongo and Natalya Scudder. Their drama has not been appreciated by their fellow crew. But it’s not just a Tumi and Natalya problem; it’s also a Kyle Viljoen problem.
Amazingly, Tumi and Natalya called a truce with each other, but that was despite Kyle’s best efforts. Kyle tried to tell Tumi that Natalya was problematic, then showed Natalya a text from Tumi that told the third stew to stay in her lane.
So, Kyle was indeed playing both sides, riling the other stews up. He has tried to explain his actions, but Tumi has her own explanation. The Chief Stew went on Watch What Happens Live to discuss things between herself, Natalya, and Kyle.
Below Deck Med’s Tumi Mhlongo thinks Kyle did “anything to make it uncomfortable”
On WWHL, a fan asked Tumi if she regretted talking to Kyle about Natalya, “because ultimately, he seemed to pit you two against each other?” Andy Cohen acknowledged that was a good question. Tumi rolled her eyes at the mention of the situation. “A hundred percent,” she said.
Andy asked if Tumi ever felt misrepresented, or, “When you saw … how he was transferring information to Natalya, your reaction was what?” Tumi responded with, “Kyle just wanted my job, though. There’s nothing that Kyle wanted more than to be chief stew. So, he was going to do anything in his power to make it uncomfortable, and that’s the truth.”
Tumi went as far as to say Kyle would admit that desire himself, “Maybe one day.” The crowd ate up those accusations. Corinne Olympios, who was seated beside Tumi, had her mouth wide open. Andy’s only response was, “Okay,” before moving on. If Kyle was gunning for Tumi’s job, pitting her and Natalya against each other would be quite underhanded.
Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
