Less than a week ago, Brooke Burke admitted to the world that she wanted to have a love affair with Derek Hough during Dancing with the Stars. She confessed on Cheryl Burke’s podcast, intending to highlight the intimacy shared between dancers.
When she initially told Cheryl, Brooke stipulated that she would’ve only wanted the affair had she not already been in a relationship. After the media got a hold of Brooke’s remarks, she attempted to clarify her statement.
She has since suggested that the connection between her and Derek was sensual and not sexual, attempting to explain the difference. Derek has not said anything on the matter publicly, and Brooke recently revealed that he hasn’t said anything privately either.
Brook tries to say “it’s so not a big deal”
Brooke recently spoke with Fox News Digital, admitting that she presently has yet to speak to Derek since her confession. “And the reason why we haven’t spoken is because it’s so not a big deal,” she said. “I was very surprised at headline after headline after headline.”
She added, “And if anybody took the time to listen to the podcast, they would really understand the reality and the vulnerability and the sharing that I was doing about the intimacy in these relationships that are formed on the dance floor.”
While her attempts to explain are fine, it is rather telling that Derek hasn’t said anything about her remarks. Even in private. Still, Brooke told Fox, “It’s a bit of a love story, really, if you let it. And chemistry is real and that connection is so real. Or not – and I feel like Derek and I really had that.”
