Jax Taylor was a villain for all eight of his seasons on Vanderpump Rules. There’s a new VPR villain in Valley Village, and his name’s Tom Sandoval. Season 10’s Scandoval catapulted Tom to unprecedented levels of hate.
Jax thinks he’s redeemed himself over the years, even though he did just cause a flight kerfuffle. He does seem to be one of the more relatively tame ones currently competing on House of Villains. He shared that he believes Sandy can eventually turn his image around, too.
Jax believes Tom can be redeemed
Jax told The Messenger he relates to Tom, probably because they’ve done comparably crappy things to women. He thinks “everybody can be redeemed” and “hopefully [Tom’s] learned from them.”
“Look at myself. I think he’s kind of working through it. I think he went through a lot this past year, lots of things not just on the show, but there’s things he went through personally. And as somebody who’s kind of gone down that road before, we all make mistakes.”
Jax thinks Sandy has “gotten enough heat”
Scandoval broke over seven months ago. Some viewers are still furious with Tom. Jax said that Tom “gets it,” but it’s time for everyone to relax.
“Okay, he screwed up. I think it’s now watching him try to redeem himself a little bit. I hope the best for him and he’s been my friend for 20 plus years, so I’m not going to just throw him out the door like everybody else. Do I agree with what he did? Absolutely not. But like I said, we all make mistakes, so I just hope he does well. I called him, and he knows that I’m there for him.”
Jax and Ariana get along better now
Omarosa Manigault Newman was also there. She reminded Jax that Tom shadily announced his podcast one day after his ex, Ariana Madix, made her Dancing with the Stars debut.
Jax agreed it wasn’t cool. “No, that was the only issue I had. I thought that it is bad taste to announce your podcast the day after she’s on Dancing with the Stars. I’m not quite sure who his people are who said that was a good idea, but I don’t know why he couldn’t have just waited two more days after. If you’re trying to fix yourself as a person and say, listen, I’m sorry for what I did … this probably would have been along those lines, to stretch out your podcast release date.”
Jax said he and Ariana butted heads for a decade, but they’re better now. He wants her to win that Mirrorball Trophy. He also thinks she’s different since the “black cloud” of her relationship with Tom was lifted.
Jax is villaining on House of Villains Thursdays at 10/9c on E!, while Tom’s pooping and crying on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Mondays at 9/8c on Fox. Ariana’s still dancing on DWTS Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
