Previously on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Monica Garcia had a confrontation with her mom Linda. Linda told her they need to stop with the “pissing contest. I’m your mother, I am not your equal.” Hmmmm. More on that later. Also, rumors are flying about Angie Katsanevas’ husband Shawn Trujillo. Here’s everything that went down on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake city Season 4, Episode 7: “An Olive Branch With Thorns.”

The Easter Bunny delivers invitations

Angie’s having an Easter Brunch at her home and inviting everyone – except for Meredith Marks, who’s “spreading rumors” about Angie’s husband, so she’s “not welcome.” Meredith has other plans anyway. She’s going to the GLAAD Awards in Los Angeles with her family on the same weekend.

Angie sends a giant Easter Bunny out to hand deliver invitations to her friends. It’s actually very cute. The best one is when Heather Gay gets into her car, glances into the back seat to see EB sitting there, and shrieks like he’s an axe murderer. It would be startling to see a giant bunny sitting in your car with that maniacally happy expression permanently frozen on his face. That’s nightmare material right there.

Is Mary’s son married?

Mary Cosby sits down with her 20-year-old son Robert Jr. “Why am I hearing rumors that you’re married?” she asks. “I want to hear it from you.”

Robert remains silent and just smiles, so Mary continues, “Is it true?”

“Um, I don’t know,” he hedges. He doesn’t know if he’s married?

After Mary keeps pushing, he finally admits, “I mean, kinda, yeah.” That’s like being “kinda” pregnant. You either are or you aren’t. I think he’s just trying to ease her in slowly.

“Like, I went to the courthouse,” he tells her.

“Lord have mercy!” Mary moans, putting her head in her hands. “And where was I when this was happening? You snuck and did it?”

“Yeah, low-key,” he says. “It’s been almost a year.”

“You’re my only son,” Mary tells him. “I don’t have nobody else. I just have you. I’m gonna cry. My baby!” He comes over and gives her a hug.

“So you think you made the right decision?” she asks him.

“Yeah,” he mumbles. He does not seem anywhere near mature enough to be a married man, and Mary agrees with me.

Christos anesti,” is the greeting of the day. It means “Christ is risen” in Greek. Heather arrives carrying a bowl of nine lemons as a hostess gift. Did she get that idea from Shannon Beador? The lemons represent the feng shui belief that lemons attract wealth and clear negative energy. I think we’re going to need more lemons.

Monica brings her whole family, including her mom Linda, or “LD,” as she introduces herself. LD takes an immediate liking to Angie’s widowed dad. “Are you single?” she asks.

“Absolutely not,” Monica says in a confessional. “F*ck no.”

In her welcome speech to her guests, Angie says she’s always been inspired by the story of Christ. “Christ was mocked and ridiculed and crucified,” she shares. “But he managed to rise up three days later. I think if Christ can rise above it, then we, too, shall rise again.” Um, okay. I think Angie needs to go back to Sunday School. Jesus didn’t “rise” because he had gumption and grit. He’s God. Is Angie saying we can be God?

The quizzical looks on the faces of some of her guests are hilarious. Even Father George looks like he’s thinking, “WTF, Angie?”

Angie chooses a bad time to confront Monica

Rather than having a private conversation at another time, Angie decides to sit down and confront Monica in front of a crowd of people. Angie’s not the sharpest pair of scissors in the hair salon.

Angie starts with, “I was hurt because you put out the rumors that you thought Meredith was speaking about.”

“But I said that to you,” Monica explains. “I had your back, and I was there for you 100% … I don’t like the sh*t that was being said, and I don’t believe it.”

“If you don’t believe it,” Angie asked, “why would you say it?”

“Because Whitney [Rose] asked,” Monica explains, adding she was only attempting to clarify the rumors Meredith was hinting at.

“How do you know that was what Meredith was talking about?”

“I didn’t hear it from Meredith,” Monica says. “I heard it from the Salt Lake City streets. I’m telling you that’s the rumor out there, Angie.”

“But you’re repeating it,” Angie accuses.

“To YOU!” Monica emphasizes. In a production confessional, Monica adds, “I first heard the rumor years ago, way before I ever met Meredith. This is something that’s been circulating … for years.”

Angie says, “I wish you’d just pulled me aside without other people being in the room…” Like you’re doing right now, Angie?

“I literally did,” Monica insists.

When Angie says she’s heard rumors about Monica, Monica says, “Bring it! What did you hear?”

The conversation escalates

“The difference between you and me,” she tells Angie, “is that I don’t f*cking hide it. Everyone’s talking sh*t behind your back. I’m the only one saying it to your face.”

On the other side of the room, Monica’s mom decides to intervene. She marches over and tells them, “You’re both beautiful powerful women. Bury the hatchet.”

Even Angie says, “We’re not fighting. We’re just having a conversation.”

“I didn’t start this sh*t,” Monica says. “I love when people come for me, and then they get mad when I fight back.”

Linda is only making things worse. Monica’s an adult. She’s not five. Back the hell off.

Finally, Angie decides to move on. As Monica tells her mom to stay out of her business, others in the room are gossiping about how rude she’s being to her mother. I don’t think she’s being rude at all. Her mom overstepped.

Linda’s treating her daughter like a child, which infuriates Monica. Monica also feels her mom is taking sides against her. She feels betrayed and alone. Her mom’s making things worse, and when Monica tries to explain her feelings, Linda laughs and discounts the way she feels.

“Find your own f*cking ride home,” Monica tells her.

“I’m always left feeling like ‘Little Monica,'” she confesses. “I feel so bad for Little Monica … All I want is a different relationship with my mom, and I know that that’s just never gonna happen … All I can do is be the mom that I wanted for my kids.”

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
