Happy days are here again for NeNe Leakes’ son Bryson Bryant. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum has been having issues with her oldest child since her time on Bravo. While NeNe tried to establish a tough love approach, Bryson took his own path.
Ultimately that path led Bryson straight to jail with some pretty impressive charges. He’s had run-ins with the law over the years but he’s been locked up since July for fentanyl possession. Now Bryson is out on bond and he needs to be a very good boy so he can stay a free man.
Okay but who fronted the money?
According to Radar, Bryson was released from Gwinnett County Jail earlier this month. Documents show Bryson posted a whopping $6100 bond after his arrest on July 3.
Three months ago, Bryson, who is now 33 years old, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of loitering and prowling. He also had a felony charge of fentanyl possession. After posing as younger brother, Brentt Leakes, at the time of his arrest, Bryson was later charged with an extra count of “giving a false name, address, or birthdate to a law enforcement officer.”
Here’s the breakdown of the charges. Bryson received $1850 for loitering. And then he earned another $1850 for lying to the cops about his government name. But the fentanyl really did him in because it’s a Schedule II controlled substance. Possession wound up being $2400.
Home for the holidays
Bryson was notified of a pending court date and advised he needs to show up or face “serious consequences.” His legal docs said, “If you fail to appear, your bond will be forfeited and a bench warrant will be issued for your re-arrest.”
Additionally, “It is your responsibility to keep informed as to your court dates. It is your responsibility to keep the court advised on any changes to your address.” A rep from the sheriff’s release office said Bryson was supposed to stay behind bars until January 3, 2024, because he violated his probation.
It may or may not be a curious situation because he was freed three months ahead of schedule. Spokespeople from the jail, records department, and sheriff’s office could not provide further info as to why he was released.
