Fasten your seatbelts! Bravo has a new reality show right around the corner. Dancing Queens delves into the world of competitive ballroom dancing, and the ladies aren’t afraid to draw blood to succeed. If you thought the women in Dance Moms were crazy, just wait until you check this series out!
E! News revealed the first trailer for the show, introducing the six leading amateur dancers. Sabrina Strasser doesn’t mind “sounding like a porn star to win.” While Leonie Biggs likes “to be the best at things.” Castmate Donie Burch gets emotional talking about how she looks, and Pooja Mehta describes herself as a “rebel.” Single mother Colette Marotto, and Gaëlle Benchetrit round out the cast.
Gaëlle is sure to be one of the show’s most interesting characters. She was making a name for herself in the ballroom scene in recent years but took a break when she became pregnant. She was only just returning to the industry. Romantically linked to top professional dancer, Nino Langella, will we see their relationship go through the motions?

Sabrina also enjoys a relationship with a pro dancer, but she and Stanislav Kochergin have been through a number of splits. With other women happy to steal professionals from the dancefloor, could that also trickle into their real lives? Now that would make for some fascinating television.
The trailer for Dancing Queens looks good, but not great. There are hints at drama, but nothing that would reach the dizzying heights of recent episodes of Vanderpump Rules, for example. Still, I’ll give it a chance. Bravo trying something a little different is to be applauded. I’m sure not everybody who saw the first season of Below Deck was excited but now look at that franchise. Spinoffs are all over the place.
Dancing Queens premieres Tuesday, May 9, at 9 p.m. on Bravo, and streaming on Peacock.
