Loyal to a fault. Of course, we are talking about Tom Schwartz. He is the last Vanderpump Rules cast member that has anything to do with Tom Sandoval in the wake of his affair with Raquel Leviss.
The public feels disdain for Sandoval. So Schwartz is doing himself no favors by defending him. Especially considering that his restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s, is being flooded with negative reviews by the public.
Schwartz made a very negative impact during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live. He defended Sandoval and suggested VPR fans give him a hug. His ex-wife, Katie Maloney, put him on blast for the comments and suggested Schwartz seek out “media training.”
Page Six reported that Katie took to social media to address the “not good” interview with Andy Cohen. “[He’s] just gonna say whatever lands in [his] head,” the Pump Rules star said.
Katie then shared the WWHL clip in which her ex-husband pleaded with fans to go easy on Sandoval. “You’re the only one that wants to hug him dude,” she tweeted. “READ THE ROOM!!!”
During the remainder of the interview, Schwartz admitted to knowing about the “emotional affair” in August 2022. Yet at the time, Sandoval told him it was only a “one-night stand.”
Five months later, Schwartz claimed Sandoval told him he was “in love” with Raquel. “Raquel is Tom’s heroin,” Schwartz said. “He’s addicted. It’s an infatuation of infatuations.”
Sandoval deflected blame by claiming his nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix had run its course. The Schwartz & Sandy’s co-owner supposedly tried to break up with his then-girlfriend on multiple occasions.
“I [was] fed a narrative that … he [was] not happy, they [were] not healthy, not intimate, blah blah blah,” Schwartz explained. The disgraced reality TV star certainly took long enough to apologize to Ariana after she found an inappropriate video of Raquel on Sandoval’s phone.
For her part, Ariana issued a statement on March 16, 2023, via Instagram that concluded, “What doesn’t kill me better run.” Meanwhile, Raquel and Sandoval were targeted at the Vanderpump Rules reunion. Two cast members came close to blows, and security had to intervene. The illicit duo then had dinner together at Musso and Frank. They have been laying low otherwise.
“We’re just kind of trying to get through these next few steps and trying to make amends,” Raquel said last month. They are “not putting a label” on their romance, Raquel added.
Raquel and Sandoval are nothing if not shameless. The former beauty queen participant was seen at Sandoval’s house while Ariana was out of town.
