A couple of guests were missing from Teresa Giudice’s wedding to Luis “Louie” Ruelas. Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga, who is Teresa’s brother, ditched the celebration. They decided to bow out gracefully after a blowup during the RHONJ finale.
A rumor that Melissa allegedly cheated on Joe was brought up on camera. The gossip was started by Margaret Josephs’ ex-BFF, Laura Marasca Jensen. Before the Season 12 reunion, Laura had a sit-down with Teresa and Jennifer Aydin.
She reportedly told them the rumor about Melissa kissing actor Nick Barrotta years ago. Laura claimed that she heard the rumor from Margaret.
“I never said [the rumor] was true. I said I was told by Margaret that someone saw that,” Laura stated. “I never said that Melissa did that.” Of course, Laura had tried out repeatedly to join RHONJ. Better luck next season, Laura!
The Gorgas allegedly found the infidelity whispers humorous. That doesn’t seem like Joe’s typical reaction. The fallout was serious enough for the couple to skip Teresa’s wedding.
In the Season 13 trailer, Jennifer dropped some knowledge on newbie Danielle Cabral. She said that Joe “saw Melissa in the backseat and she was making out with another guy.” Danielle, who is firmly Team Teresa this season, wasn’t thrilled about being dragged into the drama.
Meanwhile, co-stars Margaret and Jennifer have never seen eye to eye. Last season, Margaret revealed that Jennifer’s husband, Bill Aydin, was unfaithful over a decade ago. And she didn’t hesitate to call out Jennifer for spreading the story about Melissa.
Jennifer discussed the rumor on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast. “The point of revealing this rumor is not to hurt Melissa,” Jennifer said. Perish the thought!
“It’s to show … everybody what [Josephs’] true colors are. There is a source here. So, I say bring Laura on. Bring Laura on, have them duke it out,” Jennifer stated, per Page Six. “Like, don’t shoot the messenger here.”
She continued, “I’m repeating something. She’s telling me things that Margaret has told her.” The mom of five added, “Why is Margaret telling her these things?”
“Me saying this about Melissa, I’m not saying that it’s true. I don’t know it to be true, I don’t believe it to be true,” she remarked. “What I’m trying to say is we need to just tread lightly when it comes to Margaret because this is how she gossips within her circle of friends.”
According to Jennifer, she was showing RHONJ viewers “what was happening” during filming. She explained, “At that point in time, we got one of Margaret’s ex-best friends going rogue. If I don’t do it, someone else will. I don’t want to hide things when we’re filming, I want to be authentic to what’s going on in real life and this was going on in real life,” Jennifer added.
I’m still stuck on the part about repeating a rumor that you don’t believe is true. This season is going to be iconic!
