Leah McSweeney Is “Blessed” To Have Gotten To “Black Out” With Real Housewives Of New York Legends Dorinda Medley, Luann De Lesseps, And Ramona Singer

Where, oh where, has Real Housewives of New York been? Seriously, the show had one bad season and one of the best Real Housewives cities has gone dark (metaphorically). It’s unclear if we’re ever getting RHONY back. There are so many rumors everywhere about multiple shows, but I’ll truly only believe it when I see a premiere date.

It’s easy to point fingers at several reasons why RHONY went on this long pause. The COVID-19 pandemic. Ramona Singer’s long list of offensive remarks. Some fans claimed that Eboni K. Williams and Leah allegedly “ruined” the show. The truth is, several factors contributed to RHONY’s downfall. All I know is that I’m glad I can rewatch the good old days of the show ad-free on Peacock.

The RHONY ladies know we miss them. It’s why whenever former apple holders cross paths, they’ll tend to share it on Instagram to warm that cold place in our hearts. The same happened recently when Ramona, Luann De Lesseps, and Dorinda Medley got together for lunch and shared an iconic photo of the kiki. According to Page Six, Leah chimed in with a truly hilarious statement that is reminiscent of her tiki torch-throwing days.

In a since-deleted comment captured by Interview Mag, Leah expressed her gratitude for spending time with the legends of the show. Well, sort of. Comments by Bravo on Instagram shared a screenshot.

“The fact that I got to get black out with them. I’m blessed,” Leah wrote alongside a heart emoji. Sure, Leah has been proudly sober and open about her mental health struggles. But it is fun that she looks back on her wild season of drinking and throwing ravioli at the Ramonacoaster with fondness, as disastrous as it was.

People give Leah a lot of hate for not living up to their expectations of what they thought Bethenny Frankel’s replacement should be. I don’t think it’s enough to justify vilifying her for “destroying” the series. Now, it does seem like her RHONY days are definitely over. She’ll get one last chance at redemption on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, then her reality TV career is up in the air.

The trio luncheon in and of itself is worth investigating. It’s surprising to see that after years of feuding, Ramona and Dorinda have made peace with one another. Or that Leah is praising anything to do with her pseudo-mother Ramona. Sonja Morgan also made loving comments on the Instagram photo to show off that she’s still friends with the girls. She also clarified in her comments that she only missed out on the lunch because she was traveling, not that she wasn’t invited. She better have been. Have I mentioned how much I freakin’ miss our RHONY girls? Bring them back, Andy Cohen. I don’t care what it takes.
