Jen Shah Is Still Filming Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City After Pleading Guilty To Fraud

Viewers were shocked when Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah was arrested. Even further shocking was that footage of the aftermath aired on the show. Jen continued to film the season. And her storyline revolved around which castmates stood by her side in the midst of her scandal.

But if we thought that was shocking, the news of her holding a surprise hearing to plead guilty really took the cake. Jen was just days away from her hearing on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. In addition, she faced one charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering. Jen and her assistant, Stuart Smith, allegedly ran a telemarketing scheme that targeted elderly individuals.

Now People is reporting that Jen will continue to film RHOSLC, despite her guilty plea. Jen was cast on the first season of the show back in 2020 and quickly became a polarizing figure. But as her legal issues continue, Bravo has no plans to stop following her story. A source said that Jen’s case is “a very big part of Jen’s story” this season.

The source continued, “She’s had Meredith [Marks] and Heather [Gay] by her side, who have been very supportive of their friend during a difficult time. Obviously her legal troubles have not been easy for Jen, let alone making this decision to plead guilty.” The insider added, “Producers don’t want us to stop following it now. They’ll keep filming with her as long as they can, just like they did with Teresa [Giudice].”

Up until entering her guilty plea, Jen maintained her innocence since her 2021 arrest. She previously said on social media, “I’m innocent… and look forward to trial so you along with everyone else can see the truth.” Jen even said she was looking forward to her trial to prove it.

But that all ended with her plea in front of Judge Sidney H. Stein in a New York courtroom. A Twitter thread revealed some of what Jen said during the surprise hearing. She admitted to committing “wire fraud, offering services with little to no value.” Jen also confessed, “We used interstate telephones and emails. I knew many of the purchasers were over the age of 55. I am so sorry.”

As part of her plea, Jen was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing. A maximum penalty of up to 30 years in prison is still on the table. She is scheduled to be sentenced on November 28th.

Her attorney told People, “Ms. Shah is a good woman who crossed a line. She accepts full responsibility for her actions and deeply apologizes to all who have been harmed. Ms. Shah is also sorry for disappointing her husband, children, family, friends, and supporters. Jen pled guilty because she wants to pay her debt to society and put this ordeal behind her and her family.”
