Tia Booth is having a baby!
The former Bachelor star shared the happy news on Monday that she is expecting her first baby with her fiance Taylor Mock, as reported by People.
Sharing a set of black-and-white images on her Instagram account of Taylor cradling her growing baby bump, Tia wrote in the caption of her post that the couple’s celebratory news comes as she continues to mourn the loss of her father, who died in February following a battle with colon cancer.
“This has undoubtedly been my most challenging season thus far. I’ve never felt such overwhelming sadness and pure joy at the same time,” the reality star wrote.
Tia went on to say that it has “been difficult to be grateful for the good as if one of the most important people in my life is missing the celebration,” adding, “While I wish I could tell my dad all the good news in person, it brings me peace that he knows about it long before I do.”
“Welcoming a new little life while mourning the loss of another proves that high emotions can exist simultaneously, and I have no doubt my dad had a hand in this,” Tia continued, before wishing a “Happy heavenly Father’s Day to the first man I ever loved and Happy soon-to-be Father’s Day to my forever [heart emoji].”
Bachelor Nation first met Tia when she competed for the hand of Arie Luyendyk Jr. on Season 22 of The Bachelor in 2018. She subsequently went on to appear on Bachelor in Paradise twice: the first time in 2018 (where she met and briefly dated Colton Underwood), and the second time in 2021, where she didn’t really make a significant connection with anyone (possibly due to the fact that she’d met Taylor before going on BIP, but wouldn’t date him at that time since her heart was set on going to Mexico).
Tia and Taylor started dating sometime in the Fall of 2021, following Tia’s 2nd stint in Paradise. In April 2022, Taylor made it official and put a ring on it, while Tia was taking part in The Bachelor Live On Stage event in Atlanta.
“Never been more shocked or sure in my life [ring emoji]. I love you so much Tay, my FIANCÉ!!!” Tia wrote, alongside an image of herself showing off her engagement ring.
Tia added that the proposal was a complete surprise. “I knew that he was going to propose eventually and we were going to be married and live happily ever after,” she said. “I just didn’t know it was going to be that soon. He had been like trying to throw me off which now makes sense.”
“He was saying like, ‘Yeah, it will happen, maybe like by the end of the year,’ so I did not suspect it all,” Tia continued. “I thought I was going to be giving out like a date card on The Bachelor Live show thing, and it turns out I wasn’t at all. He already had that planned.”
And now baby makes three! Tia, who was always portrayed on the Bachelor shows as someone who deeply desired a partner and a family, now has everything she ever wanted. Best wishes to Tia for a safe and healthy pregnancy.
