Hollywood has been as chaotic as ever this week. While everyone was in shock from the Oscars slap, you might have missed that Nick Lachey was out in the streets of Beverly Hills wreaking havoc the same night. TMZ obtained footage of the Love Is Blind host leaving a restaurant with his wife, Vanessa Lachey, and a friend. And when they noticed paparazzi were taking pictures of them, things got heated.
As a photographer sat in her car trying to take pictures of the couple, videos from multiple angles show Nick crossing the street and confronting the photographer. He allegedly punched her window, calling her a “p**** mother f*****.” And, as TMZ reported, Vanessa was on the sidelines cheering it on, yelling at the photographer to open her car door.
As Nick started to walk away from the car, the photographer rolled her window down and asked, “Why are you so mad for? Golly! I’m a girl. I’m just a photographer.”
That seemed to give Nick a second wind. He came storming back to her car and reached through the window to try to snatch her phone. Once he realized he was being filmed, he stuck his tongue out at her. The photographer remarked that she could smell booze on his breath.
Later that same night, a different paparazzo encountered Nick and Vanessa in the Beverly Hills streets. That photographer started to ask Nick about the encounter he had earlier that night, calling him out for getting physical with a woman. Nick wasn’t nearly as aggressive with the second photographer, but he flashed two middle fingers as he walked away.
The following day, once the adrenaline and alcohol wore off, Nick took to Twitter to address the alteration, admitting to overreacting.
“Last night, after enjoying a great dinner with my wife and our dear friend, the paparazzi harassed us as we walked back to our hotel. I clearly overreacted,” Nick wrote on Twitter. “I’ve been in this game long enough to know that their antics are sadly part of the deal. Stupid of me. Done.”
Nick could have just stopped there. That’s a solid celebrity apology, and we probably would have just forgotten about this in a couple of days. But then, he posted another tweet trying to blame TMZ for sensationalizing the story, which is pretty silly considering there are videos of the entire thing.
He wrote, “However, for TMZ or anyone else to say that I was violent or that I “got physical” with someone is reckless and absolutely false. Once again, TMZ likes to crate [sic] their own clickbait narrative. Life’s too short, we move on.”
Let’s be clear. It’s reckless to try to snatch a woman’s phone from her hand and punch her car window. Writing about it is not. But anyway, when is season 3 of Love Is Blind coming to Netflix?
