Clearing the air! Shannon Beador found herself in another tricking situation on Real Housewives of Orange County. This time, before the reunion even started. Shannon’s dress, designed by Project Runway contestant Bones Jones, didn’t come out as expected. And it held up all of production while she scrambled to find a new one. The designer and housewife met on the set of Project Runway. They were paired up for a challenge where the designers made the housewives reunion dresses. The two hit it off, and Shannon commissioned him for her actual reunion dress.
But it quickly went awry when Bones only had three fittings to work with. Shannon simply stated, “I wanted to support new talent, and I wanted him to succeed. But he tried something new, and unfortunately, it didn’t work.” As reported by Page Six, Bones explained some of what happened on his Instagram account. Said Bones, “I had a vision for Shannon’s reunion dress. But for various reasons it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to.” He added, “Despite what took place with the dress, leaving set that day I thought we ALL felt very happy and accomplished with the final result. I hope we can work together again in the future.”
Page Six also reported on his lengthier explanation during a two hour Instagram live. Bones admitted that he knew the dress wouldn’t work the days before the reunion. He said, “Me and who I am and who the full world has seen on TV, I don’t do whack s–t.” He continued, “I refuse to put whack s–t out into the world because of the representation of who I am. So why would I not try to make this look the best it could be? Like that makes no sense.”
Bones also admitted to feeling “humiliated” about this incident when he showed up on set. He explained, “As a strong black man that I am — and not to throw race in it, but race is always in it — I feel crazy as this black man in this room not showing up to my job properly. And [Shannon’s] literally about to be in tears, too. I would be in tears, too.”
Unsure of what to do, Bones said he was just going to stay quiet about who designed Shannon’s new dress. Which was an Alice + Olivia creation. Said Bones, “I was going to let everyone think what they wanted to think and the people who were there knew what was going on, knew what was going down. I was just going to let it be. The messages that were coming in like, ‘OMG the dress is so amazing,’ I would just be like, ‘She looked incredible, right?’ Leave it at that.” He stated, “If I would’ve just been able to do what I wanted to do from the jump and be the designer. We would’ve had that dress, but by Bones Jones and not by … I don’t even know who that dress is by.”
Bones concluded of the situation, “I had a little cry.” But he also added that the rest of the day was “incredible.”
