Just a few days after the Oscars and the news is still dominated by “the slap.” By now, we all know that an incensed Will Smith went up on stage in the middle of the Oscars ceremony and slapped comedian Chris Rock. Chris cracked an insensitive joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, who has openly struggled with losing her hair due to alopecia. And Chris has a history of dissing Jada. A few years ago, when Will failed to earn an Oscar nomination, Jada boycotted the Oscars. Chris used that opportunity as host to skewer her, joking that she wasn’t invited anyway.
Forty-five minutes after the incident, Will went on to win the Oscar for Best Actor, which he was heavily favored for this year. But the controversy overshadowed the moment, despite his tearfully apology. So naturally, people have a lot of feelings about what happened. And whether or not Will should have been kicked out or even lost his Oscar. Some think Chris deserved it and Will was just defending his wife. But what do those closest to Will think of what happened? His ex-wife, Sheree Zampino, who will appear on next season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a “friend of,” has nothing but love but him.

As reported by Page Six, RHOBH castmate Kyle Richards was with Sheree at an Oscar viewing party, watching in real time. According to Kyle, “She left. She’s hanging out with him and the family tonight.” Kyle was sitting next to her for the viewing party when the slap happened. When asked if Sheree had any reaction, Kyle said, “We were confused, honestly. Now I’m beginning to think it was real. We were honestly just so shocked.”
Kyle went on to admit that they were unsure if the controversial moment was real or some kind of bit. She also added, “It’s a little disappointing, like, you’re nominated for an Oscar, just take it, be proud. Don’t taint it by adding that into the mix.” She also admitted that she felt like Will and Chris “stole the show.”

As for Sheree, she was thrilled for Will’s big win. She posted an Instagram photo with him, posing with his Oscar. She captioned it, “Epic Night! Congratulations again – when 1 wins we all win! #family1st.” Will and Sheree were married from 1992 to 1995 and share a 29 year-old son together. The two have remained close since their breakup and thrive in their blended family environment. Sheree is even friendly with Jada and her two kids with Will.
In the aftermath of the incident, Will partied with his family and friends well into the night to celebrate his big win. He has since issued a lengthier apology on his Instagram account.
