Braunwyn Windham-Burke Is Interested In Her Own Reality TV Show; Says Real Housewives Was “Toxic”

Braunwyn Windham-Burke is looking ahead. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star was shown the pink slip after two seasons. To add insult to injury, she was replaced by two of her friends. But it’s not really a surprise that Braunwyn was let go. In fact, fans were demanding it. She openly shared multiple details about sensitive topics like her alcoholism and coming out as a lesbian. But she failed to connect with viewers on the matter of authenticity. She was slammed for being thirsty and her castmates called her “mean and judgmental.”

But Braunwyn’s unconventional lifestyle is a major departure from the cookie cutter housewives we are used to seeing. After getting sober and coming out, Braunwyn announced that she was doing a “trial separation” from husband, Sean Burke. She then moved to New York City part-time and pursued other relationships. And Braunwyn seems to love the limelight, so it’s not a total shocker that she might be interested in another form of reality tv.

Which is exactly what she recently revealed to Page Six. While Braunwyn maintained that the environment on RHOC was “toxic,” she would be open to other things. More specifically, an unscripted project that speaks to her unique family arrangement. Braunwyn currently splits her time between Orange County and New York City, where her girlfriend Victoria Brito resides. Both Sean and Braunwyn split parenting duties and her kids confirm that they “adore” Victoria.

As for those projects, Braunwyn said, “There have been some opportunities presented to us, one in particular, and I did ask the kids, ‘How would you feel about this?’” She continued, “When we were doing some of the beginning stages of it, I made sure that the older kids were on the Zoom and they had a chance to talk and get to know the people behind it and get to know the process.”

Now that she’s not a housewife, Braunwyn spends her time as a motivational speaker who advocates for the LGBTQIA+ and sober communities. She’s also two years sober, which is a huge accomplishment. So Braunwyn asserted that she and her family will not participate in anything “salacious that destroys [her] family.” She explained, “Because we did that and we didn’t like it. After the kids got to know the people behind this [new project], they were like, ‘OK, I’m comfortable saying yes. I can do this.’”

While we wait to see what Braunwyn does next, she plans on revealing more about herself and her time on RHOC in a memoir. She teased, “Filming takes a lot of time but the emotional stress that my cast members put me through, there was a lot of lies made up about me. Most of them I haven’t even addressed.” She concluded, “It’s all in the book I’m writing.”
