If there is one thing you can say about Dolores Catania, it’s that she’s loyal. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has demonstrated that in plenty of ways. She has a great relationship with ex-husband and father of her kids, Frank Catania. She even let him move back into her house this season. Dolores also spent a few seasons defending now ex-boyfriend David Principe, despite her friends insistence that he didn’t give her enough of his time.
And of course, there is Dolores’ longstanding friendship with RHONJ OG, Teresa Giudice. Dolores from Paterson has been Teresa’s ride or die since she joined the show on season 7. Teresa is lucky she’s had Dolores around – because even when she has been BIG wrong, Dolores has stuck up for her, time and time again.
Which is why some comments Teresa made didn’t sit well with Dolores. As reported by Bravo’s Daily Dish, Dolores appeared on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live. She responded to Teresa’s claim on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip that no one has ever had her back on RHONJ. Def a low blow considering Dolores’ loyalty. Said Dolores, “No, I don’t agree with that. And I feel bad she said it.” She added, “Yeah, I feel I have [had Teresa’s back]. I’ve gotten a lot of slack for it at times, but I don’t mind doing it. She’s my friend.” Even when she’s not getting credit, Dolores remains loyal. How can Teresa not see that?

Dolores isn’t the only person who took issue with Teresa’s assessment of her friendships on RHONJ. When castmate Margaret Josephs went on WWHL, host Andy Cohen asked her about it too. He questioned, “Was there anything Teresa said that you were like ‘Really?’” Marge responded, “Yes, of course. When she was like, ‘This is the first time I ever enjoyed. No one has ever had my back. No one ever defends me.’”
Margaret added, “I know Dolores and Jennifer [Aydin] probably felt horrible hearing that. And me too. I was always very close with Teresa. Even now. Anything I do is only out of care for her any time I saw a red flag. I’m brutally honest with everybody in my life in my family.”

And Marge is really putting her relationship with Teresa to the test this season with all the Luis “Louie” Ruelas drama. The trailer shows Teresa having another epic meltdown, which is being compared to her table flipping moment. All because Marge is challenging her relationship with Louie. Dolores has previously expressed some serious support for Teresa and her relationship. Will she continue to do so during this fight? We are just going to have to watch and see.
Either way, I think Dolores can be a loyal friend and still be critical of Teresa’s actions and choices. Blind loyalty isn’t real friendship. And a real friendship is exactly what Teresa needs right now during this major transition in her life.
