It’s the drama Real Housewives of New Jersey fans saw coming for a decade. Always a stand out among the franchise for its familial drama, the show has once again reached an intergenerational state. Teresa Giudice’s children are grown and getting more involved in the family drama than ever before.
As viewers know, the tense family relations between the Gorga and Giudice’s played out for years, with the children and grandparents often being depicted (quite rightly) as the real victims of the feud. Who could forget the now viral song by Gia Giudice ‘waking up in the morning, thinking about so many things’ that was inspired by the drama. Gia, despite her young age at the time, was hyper aware of the tension between the adults, even if she didn’t understand it. Well, Page Six now reports the eldest has confronted Zio Joe Gorga, in her dad’s honor, as seen in a trailer for the next RHONJ.
In the clip, Joe is seen lamenting about people putting out false things about other people. Gia responds, “people get offended by things that other people say, but this is why people just shouldn’t open their mouth in the first place… just like dad didn’t deserve it either.” To recap what Gia may be specifically referencing, during the reunion last season, joe very heatedly accused Joe Giudice of “[putting his] mother in her f—king grave” among other disparaging comments.
Teresa tried to cut her off saying “But Gia” and Joe interjected, “What Gia, what, I hear you talking”. Gia replied, “If you’re going to come at me disrespectfully … then I won’t talk to you.” Joe, truly gobsmacked, continued, “No, If you want to say something, go ahead. I’m your uncle and your god father, I’m older than you but go ahead, talk.

Gia, now 21, responded, “that doesn’t mean anything Zio Joe. I’m an adult now too, so you can talk to me like one, cause I’m done with you being disrespectful.” Joe replied, “I am not disrespectful” to which Gia added, “You’re not going to talk down to me either.” There is a split second of horrible quiet before Joe starts in on his niece.
“I would never allow my daughter to talk my aunt or uncle, I mean where were you raised?” Joe asks incredulously. “Okay, you need to go walk away”, Gia is seen saying as Joe starts to spiral. “No, that is horrendous, I loved you since the minute I saw you,” he exclaimed pointing at Gia. “I haven’t seen you in 6 months Zio Joe, I don’t even know what you’re doing right now, you always got to do a scene,” Gia retorted as he stormed off.
Melissa Gorga, who missed the confrontation tries to help, telling Gia “But he cant f–king believe that you even gave him the attitude. He’s in shock.” Joe meanwhile vents ruefully to Teresa’s, beau Louie Ruelas outside the party, “she looks at me like i’m the devil. Their father was the devil not me.” Melissa continues trying to smooth things over telling Gia, “He loves you like he loves Antonia [Gorga]. He understands that your dad comes first, but he doesn’t understand, do you know what I saying. He dies for you.”

Watching Gia grow up on the show, viewers have seen over the years the love and affection between her and her uncle Joe. Despite that, Joe’s clearly critical opinions of Gia’s father have inevitably put a strain on the relationship. This was an overdue conversation for the two of them and we hope to see the family stronger for it in the end.
