The unfollowing has begun. It’s been a few days since the news of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newbie Jennie Nguyen made racially offensive posts to her Facebook account. Despite her apology, the fact that they were posted less than two years ago. And Jennie deleted the account once it was uncovered, so no one is buying it.
Now it looks like Jennie’s fellow castmates are dropping her like a hot potato, and with good reason. Some of the posts captured from Jennie’s account featured support of “White Lives Matter” and anti-BLM memes. They were offensive and gross. As reported by Page Six, Jen Shah, Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow all unfollowed Jennie on Instagram. Jen was also the first to issue a statement condemning Jennie for her behavior. Heather Gay and Whitney Roseunfollowed Jennie as well.
Jen’s post didn’t mince words. She took to Instagram and said, “I rarely believe what I see or hear online. I know firsthand what it feels like to be judged without evidence or an admission of guilt. However, since my RHOSLC cast member has admitted that she made those horrible comments and posts, I must now stand up, on behalf of my husbands and sons who are African American, to say that I am deeply offended by the racially insensitive posts and comments.”
She continued, “It was infuriating to see her like and repost comments that made a mockery of and showed complete apathy toward those killed marching to bring awareness to the deep-seeded social justice issues that plague our country.”

Meredith was less straightforward on the matter when she responded to a fan’s question on Twitter. Said Meredith, “Not allowed rn (right now) but yes I have a lot more to say about many things. And I will.” But she did add on Instagram that Jennie’s posts were “vile” and “there is no room in this world for hatred.”
Whitney said she was “shocked and saddened” by the posts. She said in an Instagram statement, “There is so much deep seeded [sic] discrimination and racism rooted in our country and we all need to do better and work together to make a change.” Whitney concluded, “I believe that everyone – no matter what their ethnicity, beliefs, sexuality, or gender identity – should be treated and afforded the same level of love, kindness, and respect.”

After the scandal being brought to her attention by a fan, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Crystal Kung Minkoff unfollowed Jennie on social media as well. She responded to the fan and said, “My pleasure. I also asked [Real Housewives of Dallas star] Tiffany [Moon] to do so too.” Which Tiffany also did.
