Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Seth Marks is officially my most hated househusband. Ok, maybe not my MOST hated, but he’s up there on the list. He’s not vile like Jim Marchese. He’s not inappropriately handsy and creepy like Michael Darby. He’s not crunching on tortilla chips after cheating on his wife while she tries to talk to him, á la David Beador. And he’s definitely not the unhinged dad-jean wearing jerk that we have come to know as Jim Edmonds. Thank god he is off my tv. But Seth – he’s the most recent worst. Let me explain….
On a recent episode of RHOSLC, Meredith Marks decided to drag her possibly already drunk husband out in public to throw him a 13th 49th birthday party. After watching them awkwardly fumble around for a kiss in the elevator, Meredith unleashed Seth to the rooftop party and their guests. What came next was a master class in why some househusbands just aren’t meant for tv. Seth ping-ponged around the party, behaving like a frat boy on his last day of college. He did shots with his boys and talked about boobs. Which Housewife Whitney Rose knows a little something about.
During the party, Whitney presented Seth with a cake in the shape of her boobs. Cut to the montage of Seth awkwardly talking about his wife’s friend’s boobs. Most of time time, in front of Whitney’s husband. Awkward? Yes. Gross? Also yes. But Meredith is defying all common sense and merely brushing off the gag. Meredith explained on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show that she gave the joke her blessing. She said, “Seth is very sarcastic, and I don’t know if people get it or not. He would not have gone there with anybody.”

Meredith said, “Whitney has a good sense of humor. Knowing her and knowing that she’s light-hearted about it and whatever, it was meant to be funny. And he just wanted to make people laugh and have a good time with it.”
And obviously Whitney does have a sense of humor, given that she coordinated it. Said Whitney when she presented Seth with the cake, “I know that you have a certain appreciation for my cleavage. I thought I’d give you a mouthful so that we never have to hear it again.” And that is exactly what I hope happens – we never have to hear about it again.
