Whether or not you can remember the plot details of Below Deck‘s 7th season (Hello elephant sanctuary! Alexis Bellino making out with new boo! Everyone hating on Kate Chastain!), if you don’t remember Courtney Skippon you prolly weren’t watching.
Courtney was the third stew whose sardonic take on yachting and yachties in particular made for some hilarious commentary. Not only was she able to impress Chef Kevin Dobson with her understanding of fine dining (which let’s face it was often times greater than his… seafood extravaganza anyone), but she made friends with chief stew Kate. No easy feat. And lest we forget, Captain Lee Rosbach even named her his VIP of the season.
Courtney was also embroiled in a boatmance with deck hand Brian de Saint Pern. The single dad had the relationship IQ of a teenager and vacillated back and forth with his feelings the entire season. The fact that Courtney seemed to have actual feelings for him, made it that much harder to watch. That is until the reunion show, where we learned that she had blocked him, permanently.
It should be no surprise that loyal viewers would like Courtney to return to the small screen once again. However, according to Express this isn’t likely to happen. Courtney recently appeared on former Below Deck Mediterranean chef stew Hannah Ferrier‘s podcast, Dear Reality, You’re Effed to discuss her feelings on a possible return.

“I would have gone back right away. If Kate went back and they wanted me back as like a second stew again, I definitely would have done that right away. Because I feel like that’s a more natural progression.” But as we all know, that didn’t happen. Kate retired from the series, and we haven’t seen Courtney again.
Courtney feels that to come back now, would be “embarrasing. But if you’re just like waiting around. You do sort of to an extent have to be just like readily available for that. And that’s not cute for me. That’s like a guy that ghosted you. And then six months he’s like, ‘You up?’ And you are like, ‘I’m up.’ Yeah, no.” Got to love a girl with solid boundaries.
I want to respect Courtney’s choices, however, I for one would welcome her return and a hearty dose of dry wit.
