Mob Wives Alum Renee Graziano Arrested For DUI After Crashing Into A Parked Car

2022 is not starting off great for Renee Graziano, star of the iconic 2011-2016 hit show Mob Wives. The VH1 star has been arrested on DUI charges after crashing into a parked vehicle Tuesday night in Staten Island.

According to an NYPD spokesperson, Renee was driving a 2020 Nissan Murano when she lost control and crashed into a (thankfully) empty 2020 jeep wrangler at 10:35pm.

Page six reports that sources allege Renee was “wobbly on her legs” as well as displaying “slurred speech and glassy eyes”. She told police she had taken Adderall earlier in the day.

The spokesperson for NYPD explained, “When they went to speak to the driver of the vehicle, she displayed physical characteristics consistent with being under the influence and was subsequently taken into custody.

“She was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired.” Fortunately Renee was not severely harmed in the crash. Her rep has yet to respond to a request for comment from the news outlet.

If you were unfortunate to have missed the cultural touchstone when it aired, Mob Wives featured a friendship group of women with familial or personal connections to alleged crime families. Just the premise alone, screamed good T.V, but the women’s vulnerable yet fierce personalities brought a whole other level to the reality show.

Created by Renee’s sister, Jennifer Graziano, Renee starred on the show from start to finish. She delivered us main character energy as the daughter of the now deceased, Anthony Graziano, consigliere of the Bonanno crime family. She also had mob ties through her ex-husband and son’s father, Hector Pagan Jr, a known mobster with ties to a top New York Crime Family.

The show also featured the beloved, unquestionable fan favorite, “Big Ang” Angela Raiola who tragically lost her battle with cancer shortly before the show’s subsequent end in 2016. Although we were sad to see the show end, there seemed to be a consensus that it felt wrong to continue without the warm and loving energy Big Ang brought to ‘the family’.

Renee, for her part, had always been very candid about her personal issues, opening up about her substance abuse struggles and depression on the show and in subsequent years. She entered treatment for depression in 2017 after an Oxycontin overdose, and things were looking positive, as according to sources she was doing great in December, 2017. In a 2018 interview discussing her sobriety and mental health journey she revealed, “I hope to help show others that they’re not alone and there are many resources to help them.”

Learning about Renee’s self work over the years, we are saddened to hear of this latest trouble for the star. Luckily no one was hurt, and we hope Renee gets the support she needs to come out on the other side of this.
