During Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules, Lala Kent was coming for everyone. But the drama on the show is nothing compared to the real-life drama that Lala is going through.
In 2018, Lala and her man, Randall Emmett, got engaged in Cabo San Lucas. The couple welcomed their daughter, Ocean Emmett, on March 15, 2021. Lala posted a sweet photo with her daughter on Instagram.
The new mom acknowledged that her relationship with Randall “makes absolutely no sense on paper.” Duh. But Lala said that she enjoys filming VPR with Randall. “Our relationship was so unexpected, and we never thought we’d showcase it on TV like this because there was so much judgment surrounding it in the beginning,” Lala explained. “But the whole cast loves him so much now and he adds such a fun element to the show.” Oh yes—who can forget Randall’s pickle ball tournament on Pump Rules?
Lala, who has been sober for 3 years, deleted all the photos of her fiancé from her Instagram. It turns out that photos of Randall out with two women in Nashville spurred Lala to action. While it is hard to tell if the man is actually Randall, it was proof enough for Lala.
She posted a video to her Instagram Story of her checking into a hotel with her daughter, Ocean. The song choice for the video was telling. Lala chose “Sorry’ by Beyonce, which is a break-up anthem about how Jay Z stepped out on Beyonce. Shortly after, it was rumored that Lala dumped Randall for allegedly cheating on her. Lala moved out of the home that she shared with him.
Randall is also dealing with his own financial issues. He “claimed he was headed towards bankruptcy earlier this year as part of his court battle with his ex-wife, Ambyr Childers.” Shocking, I know.

Lala finally addressed her split with Randall on her podcast, Give Them Lala…with Randall. Lala stated that she “never thought that my life would be where it is right now and that’s OK.” Lala is trying to stay positive amid the breakup. She noted, “For me, I look at it and I’m like, ‘I would never have Ocean.’ This independence that I have wouldn’t be here. It just feels amazing.”
Lala moved forward with altering her tattoo of Randall’s name. The ink, which originally read “Rand” on the inside of her right arm, now says “bRand New.” Lala showed off her new tattoo on Instagram.
Then Lala turned lemons into lemonade (and hopefully some cash) by marketing a new hoodie. Bonus-it also shades her former man. Lala modeled a pink hoodie on shoplalakent.com which sports the words “bRand new,” just like Lala’s tattoo. The item sells for around $50.

This independent woman is providing for her family, which is a good thing due to Randall’s finanical problems. Lala wrote a memoir, and she also started making Cameo videos. She jacked up the price on her Cameos to $250 for personal videos, while a business video will cost you a hefty $5,000.
It is commendable, and surprising, that Lala has taken the high road when dealing with Randall. She is a strong woman, and she will make it on her own.
