Season four of Selling Sunset is here and wow. Newbie Emma Hernan is really mixing things up for the Bratz Doll inspired Oppenheim Group. Emma was brought to the firm to fill in for Christine Quinn after she had her baby. A confusing situation, since Christine had always been clear she would not be taking much time off postpartum. What makes it even more confusing is that Emma had apparently been dating one of Christine’s exes! At the same time as Christine!
During her introductory dinner Emma wasted no time in telling the fleet of realty glamazons how she came to know Christine. She regaled the table with a story about leaving the gym with her now ex. She claims that Christine showed up and blocked her from leaving. Emma claims that Christine was “banging on the windows” of the car and “screaming.” Eventually, Vanessa Villela reminded that table that Christine was probably just hurt to see her boyfriend cheating, rather than being personally upset with Emma herself.
In a later episode, Christine reveals even more about this mystery man. She claimed that this same guy apparently used to date Heather Rae Young! Amazing. In one of the scenes Heather asks Christine, “Why does she care if she’s married with a baby?” to which the new mom responded in an interview with Page Six, “Heather, why do you care?”
Christine broke the fourth wall in her interview repeatedly. She insisted that she only brought up the ex-boyfriend drama as a way to bring intrigue to the show. She revealed, “I was annoyed every single day doing it because it’s not something that I would actually talk about. It’s not something that I would actually care about.” I totally believe this.

Christine is well known for being an ice queen. Even her iconic finale episode wedding was an impeccable white-walker chic. Love her or hate her, it’s hard to imagine Christine happily married with a new child and still worried about some nameless low-down cheating ex-boyfriend. I’m just saying.
“Part of being on a reality show is you have to talk about things that you wouldn’t necessarily even give a s–t about in real life, but that’s just the way that it is. So, we all did our best to try to make a good season out of it,” Christine explained. She claimed she “wouldn’t ever talk about a situation like that” otherwise.
Christine referenced other parts of her life she’s chosen to keep quiet too. “I was six months pregnant until I came out with it,” Christine reminded everyone. “I was engaged to Christian [Richard] before anyone even knew I was in a relationship … I’m not that type, and I think that’s kind of shown throughout history.”

Christine claims she has merely “dealt with the cards she [was] given.” Unfortunately for her, that meant being shunned from Heather’s October wedding with Tarek El Moussa. Is that even a punishment?
