On the last episode of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, we finally saw Jen Shah’s reckoning. Accused of money laundry and fraud while bamboozling the elderly, a whole SWAT team descended upon the party bus that the cast was taking on a cast trip. All looking for Jen. The cast seemed shocked and tears were shed. Well, tears and disbelief from Jen’s friend Heather Gay. Lisa Barlow called her 6 lawyers and tried to squeeze out a tear that we never actually saw. And newbie Jennie Nguyen? She just wanted to get the show on the road and eat her Cheetos in peace.
One cast member didn’t seem surprised at all and that was Meredith Marks. Meredith, who set up the trip to Vail, was already in the rental house when she got the call. Lisa explained to her what happened to Jen, while a stone faced Meredith tried to hide her glee. Now, I’m not one to dance on someone’s grave but truly, Meredith certainly doesn’t owe Jen shock or tears. After Jen came for her family, Meredith clearly has no positive feelings towards her. And as Meredith pointed out, she always had a feeling that something was off with Jen’s business.
But fans quickly took to social media to call Meredith out, wondering why she seemed so calm. Speculation ran rampant before the season that Meredith tipped off the feds. She’s denied this and even said she was hurt by it. That didn’t stop the Bravo online universe from demanding answers. In a series of tweets, Meredith told her side of the story. She started by addressing the theory that she tipped off law enforcement. She tweeted, “I think the FBI can figure out where to find someone they have been investigating for years. Especially someone on a worldwide television show.” I have to agree with this, even if it’s an unpopular opinion.

Meredith continued, “Didn’t everyone in the van just say they all thought something was off about Jen’s business / lifestyle? So why are they so surprised? What more would you need to know?” Also agree with this. And Whitney Rose had A LOT, and I mean, A LOT of insight on how Jen might be generating predatory leads. I’d like to know how Whitney knows so much about it.
A fan posted a gif implying that she doesn’t buy it. Meredith responded, “What is so surprising. The whole world was questioning and saying things didn’t add up for the last year.” Yet another fan accused Meredith of knowing too much. Meredith tweeted back, “Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Let’s see what the verdict is in the court of friendship.” Yes, two very different things.
Finally, Meredith concluded, “I have had a couple of emotionally draining days between grieving for my father and now with Jen’s arrest. I need to decompress and stay away from the news for a moment.”
