Season 2 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is really delivering. When the season kicked off, Meredith Marks was still pissed at Jen Shah.
Last season, Jen flashed her vagina at Meredith’s college-aged son, Brooks Marks. Brooks didn’t appreciate it. When Meredith discovered that her RHOSLC co-star “liked” social media posts mocking Brooks and making fun of his sexual preferences, she was furious.
Meredith’s bestie, Lisa Barlow, moved heaven and earth during an ice fishing trip to get the duo to make up. Finally, Jen apologized to Meredith, and later to Brooks. But Meredith doesn’t fully trust Jen.
Of course, that was filmed months before Jen’s arrest on March 30, 2020. Jen was charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Her assistant, Stuart Smith, was arrested and faces the same charges. Jen and Stuart, who were allegedly involved in a telemarketing scheme, plead not guilty to all charges.
Jen is “maintaining her innocence” while filming with her RHOSLC co-stars. Meredith was surprised when Lisa and Heather Gay stood by Jen after her arrest. Meredith is a licensed lawyer but never a practicing one, said “For the record I can say that I did not have anything to do with Jen’s arrest.”
In the Season 2 RHOSLC trailer, there was a suggestion that Meredith might be involved in Jen’s arrest. “Bottom line is, Meredith knows a lot of information,” Lisa said.
During a group dinner at the end of the trailer, Jen got in Meredith’s face and screamed at her about her involvement in her arrest. Meredith stood up and responded, “Who’s calling who a fraud? Love you baby! Bye!” Then the jewelry designer slammed the door. That is how you ENGAGE!
In an interview with Page Six, Meredith explained what really happened at that group dinner. “There was a lot of other stuff going on that you’ll see at that dinner that I was already kind of put on guard about. And so, I was kind of really taken, initially, very much taken by surprise,” Meredith stated.
“And then I got kind of angry because I was like, ‘You know what? Not just Jen, but all of the women who are saying this, they all know that this investigation started in, you know, nine years ago. Like, that was public information,’” Meredith said.

“‘Are you guys just looking for a problem with me? What’s going on here?’” Meredith remembered thinking at the dinner. “In the moment, I think I just got really kind of upset and offended because I was just kind of like, ‘Wait, what?’ It was so out of nowhere,” she added about Jen’s accusation.
The RHOSLC cast was going on a girls’ trip when Jen received a call from her husband, Sharrieff Shah. He supposedly told her that she was going to be arrested. Jen left and was picked up by her aunt. Federal agents arrived moments later to search the van. Two Judgey Girls shared the details on Twitter.
Meredith was not present in the van because she had traveled separately to the groups’ destination. She told Page Six, “Anyone you know getting arrested on some given day, you’re going to be like, ‘Wait, what?’ It’s surprising.” Jen’s arrest rocked the Bravo-verse.
“You don’t wake up in the morning and say, ‘I wonder which — who I know is getting arrested today,'” Meredith commented. “Of course, you kind of think with this group, anything is possible.” Agreed, Meredith.

“So, like, at first, you’re kind of like, ‘Wait, what? Is this real? Is it not real?’ I mean, like, Whitney [Rose] thinking there’s strippers or whatever it was, you know?” Meredith remarked. “So, yeah, your initial reaction is, ‘Is this really true?’”
I’m sure Jen wishes that it wasn’t true. It certainly doesn’t look like it will be a Shah-Mazing season for her.
