What happens to friendships forged in the soul-less pit of reality television? Can they sustain once the spotlight that once glued two people together is gone? It’s a dilemma for the purged cast of Vanderpump Rules, who suddenly have a Beverly Hills society wedding to attend, and a recent baby boom within the cast.
Of course, the exodus following offensive racial comments made towards Vanderpump Rules alum Faith Stowers disrupted the friend dynamic and left relationships hanging within the group. Stassi Shroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni were fired in June 2020 for this offense. In December 2020, heavily-marketed wholesome couple Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright left the show to focus on their son, Cruz.
Jax expressed mixed-feelings at the time of leaving the show in an Instagram post. He wrote, “the last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life. Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules. We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors. @bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you.”
Now, Jax is again perplexed with conflicting feelings because LA’s favorite self-destructive lothario isn’t sure where he stands with the remaining cast. Were the friendships just for the show? One has to assume the wedding would be filmed for the show, so would there be objections from production to include the cast that was fired for racial insensitivity? Well, the upcoming nuptials between Lala Kent and Randall Emmett is the perfect venue to figure it out. And now that Lala and Randall have announced a new wedding date for 2022, fans are wondering whether alums of the show will also be on the guest list.
“Just curious what happens with the taping of your wedding and being able to have your friends that sadly are no longer on the show at your wedding?” one fan commented on Lala’s Instagram Tuesday. According to an article by Us Weekly, Jax and Stassi were both tagged on the post, and the Michigan native responded, “tough question…”
