Phaedra Parks may be long gone from Real Housewives of Atlanta, but that doesn’t mean she stopped supporting her former castmates. We all heard the unfortunate news that NeNe Leake’s husband, Gregg Leakes, lost his battle with colon cancer in early September.
Now Phaedra is cheering NeNe on to hopefully find healing in dating again. Phaedra recently spoke with Page Six to share her thoughts on the matter. She started, “Love conquers all. If NeNe wants to find love, she is gorgeous and she’s got a great body. So I say, go after it, honey.”
Phaedra, who is a licensed funeral director and mortician, added, “If that makes her happy, I support it. In my business, I see people die every day unexpectedly. The tears over graves are cried for deeds undone and words left unsaid. So I just tell people you’ve got to live like today is your last day, not foolishly but you cannot live with regrets. I don’t want NeNe to have any regrets.”
The ex-housewife even showed her support by attending a “Celebration of Life” party that NeNe threw to honor Gregg. Former and current cast members Lisa Wu, Marlo Hampton, Porsha Williams and Eva Marcille were also in attendance. Said Phaedra, “We all had a big ‘Celebration of Life’ party and it was such a beautiful moment. I’m so proud of NeNe as a businesswoman, as a wife, as a mom. I always tell her, ‘Whatever you need, I’m there.’ That’s how I am with all my friends.”

She recently spoke with NeNe and said she is “holding up well.” Phaedra revealed, “I just talked to her last week and we laughed, so she is doing as good as anyone could expect from someone in her situation. It’s hard to lose a spouse, though. It’s hard to lose anyone but especially someone like Gregg, who absolutely adored NeNe. He was her biggest cheerleader, so it’s tough.”
Phaedra concluded that grieving takes time and “It comes in stages but she’ll definitely get through it. NeNe is so strong.”
Losing a spouse is unimaginable and it’s nice to know NeNe is getting support from her friends. And while she will never fully move on from her loss, it’s nice to know that she has support in finding happiness once again.
