Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is back in full swing, and Bravo’s about to get a whole lot icier. Between Jen Shah’s arrest and the Erika Jayne of it all on this season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I feel like a wannabe law student. Jen’s impending arrest, which takes place on camera, is sure to be the climax of the season. And will split apart those who stand by her (Heather Gay and Lisa Barlow) with those who do not (Meredith Marks).
There’s so much surrounding Jen’s on-camera arrest that it’s hard to wrap your head around. The ladies were on their way leaving for a cast trip when Jen gets a call, asks Whitney Rose to unplug her mic, and scurries away before the feds show up. How they knew Jen was at BeautyLab is still a mystery, but the teasers hint that Meredith might have had something to do with it. In the teaser, the RHOSLC ladies were so confused by the situation, Whitney thought that the cops were strippers. Very on-brand. In a recent interview with Lisa, she explained what was going through her head while Jen was arrested on charges of allegedly running a fraudulent business.
Lisa spoke with We Should Talk about the arrest, saying she went in that day hoping to have a conversation with Jen to “clear the air.” She said the subject wasn’t super heavy, but just “something that needed to be talked about.”

She goes on to say that Jen showed up sporting her “killer braids.” “And next thing you know, she’s leaving and Homeland Security, the NYPD shows up and the FBI,” Lisa continued. You couldn’t even make this stuff up if you tried.
Lisa said she was looking at Heather and for a moment, thought the cops were after her. “I’m like, ‘They’re here for Heather, because Heather was sitting uncomfortably.’ She’s like crouching down. I’m like, ‘I feel like they’re there for Heather, because she’s so uncomfortable and it’s her place of business,'” Lisa said. However, the authorities asked for Jen, so then Lisa was even more confused about the situation. So it’s clear that while the entire situation went down while the cameras were rolling, all of the ladies were totally caught off guard. All I gotta say is ROLL FOOTAGE.
