I’ve been saying this since this season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills started — Erika Jayne is a great actress. A good human being is still up for debate, but I’ll give her this — she knows how to put on in front of a camera. She puts on this ice queen persona that she’s the physical embodiment of all diamonds, no emotions. And ACTUAL actress Garcelle Beauvais is catching the act, especially when it comes to Erika’s attitude amidst Tom Girardi’s embezzlement claims.
An old Ted Talk given by Erika, and reposted by @allabouttrh on Instagram, is coming back to bite her in the butt. In the speech, she discusses joining RHOBH and bringing Erika Jayne (her alter-ego) from nightclubs into people’s living rooms. “They ate it up,” she said. But did we though? The persona of being rich and glamorous definitely got old with me pretty quickly, as it rang pretty hollow. But apparently, if you’re loaded, that is enough to register as interesting in some people’s books.
Erika continues, “What happened that I did not expect is that people thought that this Erika Jayne character was totally completely me. That this art project that I had created in order to get back to what I love the most — performing — was all I was ever allowed to be,” she said. OK, so I think there’s a difference between art developed out of creativity from art that is bought with a $40k a month glam squad, but to each their own.

And this is where it really gets messy — “It’s the greatest bamboozlement I’ve ever accomplished because Erika Jayne nearly erased Erika Girardi,” she concluded. Maybe in your mind, but not to the feds hunny. They could give a damn about this wannabe tough front you’re putting on social media when there are real victims involved. Maybe that’s why EJ is unhappy with the Bravo editors this season — it’s showing the truth of her life, not the facade.
And even more of that truth is bound to come out at the reunion, once Sutton Stracke pulls out the skeletons in Erika’s (overflow) closet. At least Erika still has Lisa Rinna fooled. She’s about all she’s got left on her side at this point. But like she said herself, she really doesn’t give a f–k about anyone except Erika Jayne. Or Erika Girardi. Whatever title benefits her more that day.
