Really, what is a Real Housewives of Potomac dinner party without a messy exchange of throwing some shade? Karen Huger and Gizelle Bryant know that no dinner is complete without a few reads in between courses. And considering Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard have a rocky past, thanks to the Monique Samuels of it all, the pair also never back down from exchanging words over a few Coronas. And luckily, the Bravo cameras are usually there to capture it all for our enjoyment.
During this week’s RHOP episode, Candiace and Ashley kicked things off with a bang at Robyn Dixon’s birthday party. CandeeGal was still peeved that Ashley dropped by the cast trip to set Wendy Osefo off and dip out, and she wasn’t afraid to show it. However, she decided to throw a low blow, calling Ashley a “wide-body,” which was just uncalled for. I love RHOP, but I’m not here for the body-shaming from anyone — whether it’s Gizelle or CandeePants in the wrong.

In an Instagram exchange, the new friend-of Askale Davis defended herself for standing up against the body shaming. In a screenshot captured by the What Else Is Going On podcast Instagram account, Askale puts a fan in her place who accuses her of being biased when it comes to defending body shamers. “Let’s not be so quick to judge as you only watched about 5 mins of the dinner,” Askale began. “I let Candiace know she was wrong & she actually ended up apologizing to Ashley. Now whether or not that makes air is another story.” Ah those shady Bravo editors, riling up fans and stars all the time.
But Askale didn’t stop there — and didn’t leave the conversation with her mouth wide open in shock. She had a few words to say. “Buuuttt what do I know, I’m just a ‘friend of’ who gets PAID to eat oysters & serve a cute lip. Be blessed,” Askale said. Yes girl, let them know. I’m living for Askale just basking in her moment — even if it’s Nicki Minaj criticizing her reactions. At least Nicki knows her name. Most of us viewers cannot say the same.
