Vanderpump Rules is due to come back on our screens any week now, and it’s going to look like a completely new show. OGs like Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and Jax Taylor are out after “leaving” AKA getting fired last year. The rest of the cast are either new parents, newly engaged, or both. And Lisa Vanderpump is going to take on more of a “friend” role than a “boss” role this year. Thankfully, because the OGs fake clocking into Sur to pretend they still work there was definitely a low point for the show.
One of the biggest transformations has been from Scheana Shay. Scheana is a new mom and newly engaged to her boyfriend Brock Davies. It was a whirlwind relationship as far as LVP’s concerned, as Scheana was all-in really quickly with Brock. And in a recent interview with Us Weekly, LVP says that Brock’s first season didn’t exactly go very smoothly. His parents have already said while they watched VPR in the past, they weren’t big Scheana fans. The question still remains on how they’ll view their son’s debut on the show.
LVP said that Scheana will ultimately be the one to find out if Brock is “the one” for her, but it’s “complicated.” “And a few people have a lot of opinions, and they weren’t afraid to verbalize them,” Lisa said. “He is very much loved, but it wasn’t a smooth journey.” Maybe that’s why ScheShu got a prenup before Brock put a ring on it. Smart move.

Out of the entire Pump Rules gang, LVP teases that Brock brings the most “surprises.” “That whole relationship is a little, eye-opening,” she added. No matter your opinions on Scheana, it does suck to see her get in relationships that aren’t always easy. And now that they have a kid, let’s hope she and Brock can work out their kinks and get their happily ever after.
LVP said part of the reason there was trouble in paradise is because most of the VPR cast is dealing with real-life adult issues. “Vanderpump Rules definitely felt [like] it was a different energy, but it did [still] feel as complicated and as intense,” LVP said. “But because they were grown up, it seems like there were slightly more in-depth issues rather than, you know, someone saying, ‘It’s my birthday.'” Am I detecting some subtle Stassi shade? LVP you messy dog.
Lisa did tease that Season 9 is coming back “very soon” but she’s not allowed to reveal when. Regardless, it’ll be a whole new vibe down in West Hollywood. And this upcoming season will tell if Vanderpump Rules can survive in the new era, or totally flop without the OGs to anchor it. We know that bitter ol’ Jax will be rooting for the latter.
