Erika Jayne really thinks she is giving us everything this season. She cried hysterically behind closed doors after costar Garcelle Beauvais revealed that estranged husband Tom Girardi calls Erika. Erika said she was giving it her all. None of her castmates were in the bathroom. So we can only assume she was crying to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills producers. She also cried about her situation (sans waterproof mascara) to Kyle Richards. But you know when she doesn’t cry? When the ladies question her about Tom’s alleged stealing of funds from orphans and widows. Of course I don’t expect Erika to throw him under the legal bus (or do I?). She’s not going to say on national tv that she knows something. But I don’t think it would kill her to show a little empathy for someone besides herself.
To make matters worse, when it comes to the courts, Erika is anything but cooperative. Now Radar Online is reporting that Erika is fighting off lawyers that are trying to get her to pay back loans from Tom. According to documents obtained by the publication, Erika’s attorney asked for an extension on responding to the $25 million lawsuit filed against her company, EJ Global. Her attorney argued to the court that he needs another 14 days to prepare Erika’s defense.
While Tom has found himself in an old folks home, Erika is busy trying to hold onto what little she’s got in the matter. She’s even asking for spousal support, despite Tom filing for bankruptcy. In fact, it’s the bankruptcy trustee that is coming after Erika and suing her. So are Tom’s former clients. In court, Erika stands accused of receiving money from Tom to hide funds from creditors. The trustee also alleges that Erika possesses luxury items, including jewelry. The trustee says the bankruptcy court is entitled to these items.

So far, Erika hasn’t returned any money and has even tried her hardest to keep her financials under wraps. She eventually gave in, but it didn’t help her case. Especially not in the court of public opinion. Erika claims she doesn’t give a f**k if her costars believe her or not. But she is slowly starting to see her circle of support fade. In recent episodes of RHOBH, we see Sutton Stracke start to question Erika’s stories. Not only about Erika’s depiction of Tom’s mental decline, but what she knew. Especially given that Erika received money in her LLC. As Sutton said, “ignorance is no excuse.”
Now that the ladies are starting to ask questions, it seems like the walls are closing in on Erika. And what more can she give us this season? Will we see more tears or just another stone-faced denial of what has transpired in her life? I guess all we can do is stay tuned.
