And just like that, another season of The Bachelorette is over. Katie Thurston ended up getting a ring on her finger from Blake Moynes after a tumultuous season. Blake almost got cold feet and didn’t propose. And it came after Katie went through an emotional split with Greg Grippo over those three little words every Bachelor contestant wants to hear.
During the After the Finale Rose episode, Katie sat down with Greg to talk about their split alongside co-hots Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams. She accused her ex of gaslighting her and coming on the show for the “wrong reasons,” which includes him getting accused of taking acting lessons prior to the start of the season. And while Blake and Katie are living their happily ever after (for now), there’s still bad blood between Katie and Greg.
And according to a report from Us Weekly, the Bachelorette co-hosts weren’t big fans of the way Greg left Katie either. Kaitlyn did an Instagram Q&A prior to the After the Final Rose episode to talk about alllll her feelings. Particularly when Greg decided to leave the show because she didn’t want to be in the predicament of telling two guys she loved them. And for Greg, who apparently forgot how this reality TV show works, that was the last straw (or an excuse to get out while he could).
A fan asked Kaitlyn her feelings about the split and whose side she’s on. “I still have thoughts on this,” Katilyn said. “I have watched this episode back three times to digest my thoughts on it. … From being on the bathroom floor, I was just thinking he poured his heart out and she didn’t respond well … watching back … I didn’t like how he treated her.”

She said prior to watching the intense Bachelorette episode, she was neutral on the situation. At the time, she thought Greg was feeling hurt and Katie didn’t communicate her feelings well. “Could Katie have, like, been a little more reactive to him saying these things? Of course. But the way he responded back to that I thought was bulls—t,” Kaitlyn continued.
Kaitlyn said, “And I think he just wanted to quit before he got fired. I think his ego was so hurt in that moment that he was like, ‘I’m gonna just flip this s—t and get out of here.” If anyone knows the tactics of playing the Bachelor game, it’s Kaitlyn. So I trust her judgment on this. Now, bring on Bachelor in Paradise, please!
