Kenya Moore came off another rough season of Real Housewives of Atlanta. After BoloGate, she was like a dog with a bone about who was with Bolo. And it didn’t play out well. She tried to get costar Porsha Williams to admit to getting more than just a lap dance. But it didn’t work. And it left the group in shambles.
On top of it, Kenya was going through some heavy stuff in her own life. For multiple seasons now, she has been going back and forth with estranged husband, Marc Daly. Some accused her of having a fake relationship. But I believe it was very real. Her emotional confessionals certainly indicated that they were. But now all of that seems to be coming to a close.
As reported by Radar Online, Kenya, who officially filed for divorce in May, is fighting for custody of daughter Brooklyn. Which is confusing, because she was just seen vacationing with Marc. Maybe it was an attempt to come to an agreement but if it was, it certainly failed.
In Kenya’s petition, she said the marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hopes of reconciliation.” She is also demanding full sole custody and legal of Brooklyn. Kenya argued, “the parties have acquired other joint personal property as a result of their marriage by way of gifts or joint purchases which must be equitably divided as well as marital debt which must be equitably divided.”
Kenya also asked the court to have an emergency hearing. Her lawyers explained, “To date, there are various issues impacting the care, safety and well-being of the minor child that could be continuously impacted if not addressed at least on a ‘Temporary’ basis. Without assistance and direction for this Honorable Court, it is our belief that the un- resolved matters as to the minor child will continue, and could become irreparable.” Whew, that is some heavy stuff. You might not love Kenya but I do think she’s an excellent mother.

Back on June 11, Marc responded to Kenya’s petition by filing his own suit. He asked for joint legal custody but is ok with Kenya having primary custody. Marc also asked the court to give him “separate real and personal property.” He also said he wants an “equitable division of the parties’ marital residence.” In addition, he wants the court to order Kenya to pay his legal fees in the case.
Her lawyers also argued that the case should be sealed. They said, “The Petitioner is a high-profile individual who has a vested and heightened interest in keeping her private life from becoming public. Due to her public persona, the Petitioner’s life, safety and privacy interests are generally the subject of media outlets and as such. Petitioner has reason to believe that the information contained in this action might be utilized by said outlets to further harass, molest or aggravate her life.” The judge has not yet ruled on this request.
