The Bachelorette is currently having a very different season than ever before. And no, I’m not trying to play into the “most explosive season yet” hype that ABC uses to get fans to tune into two-hour-long episodes every year. Longtime host Chris Harrison left the show after defending Rachael Kirkconnell’s racially insensitive social media posts. It’s wild to think of the franchise without Chris Harrison at its center. But it was clear he dug his own grave and it was time to move one. And clearly, Rachel Lindsay would agree.
Currently, Bachelor alums Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe are hosting Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, and it looks like they’ll continue to do so the following season. As for Bachelor in Paradise, ABC announced that a rotation of celebrity guests will be enlisted to host. Aside from that, ABC hasn’t found a perfect match. But it sounds like a Friends star might be interested in the job — or at least, handling the roses.
According to a report from Us Weekly, Jennifer Aniston is ready to hand out roses and host the Bachelor. Well, let’s not get carried away. She wasn’t really serious and just made a joke about it. But boy that would be a sight to behold. She first started by sharing her opinion on who should be the permanent replacement, as she’s a part of Bachelor nation and tunes into the show. “God, I don’t know. I think they need a psychologist or psychiatrist, not just Chris Harrison — or whoever the host is now. There should be someone they can go and talk to,” she said. Really that’s not a bad idea.
Then, she joked that she wouldn’t mind helping the contestants work through their issues and figure out who is “the one” for them. “OK, well, I’ll do that. Gladly. I’ll be the one picking roses in the rose garden,” she said.
And there you have it — Jennifer Aniston, an actress turned dating show host. And de facto cupid for the confused Bachelor contestants. At least she would be going into the show for the right reasons, as that’s always a worry.
